Texas AG Threatens Austin With Lawsuit for Not Complying With Governor’s Order on Masks
The Epoch Times ^ | March 10, 2021 | Janita Kan

The state’s governor, Greg Abbott, lifted its statewide mask mandate that was enforced in mid-2020 and is working toward loosening other restrictions on businesses so they can operate again at full capacity. The move comes as the state is seeing a downward trend on patients infected with COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, as well as hospitalizations going down to levels not seen in months.

Good. It’s these two bit mayors with a lust for power who are holding things back. The same is true in Florida.

Covid was an excuse for 1,000,000 petty tyrant Control Freaks to impose their will. They are mentally ill, and will not give up their new powers willingly. It must be taken back by force, be it courts or other.

Cut the power to the mayor and county judge’s offices.

Tyrants don’t give up power easily.

Jail them if you have to.

What about the businesses that still require masks? They are ignoring Abbott’s orders. Who stops them? How long will they force servers and other staff at restaurants to wear the things? I for one, will try to only patronize where I have a choice. Not too many choices available.

https://nypost.com/2021/03/10/texas-ag-warns-austin-to-lift-local-mask-requirement/

“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Wednesday threatened to sue the city of Austin for choosing to keep its COVID-19 mask mandate for businesses in place.

The AG accused Austin of not complying with Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent executive order, which ended his statewide mask mandate and banned coronavirus restrictions on businesses.

The governor’s order “has the force and effect of state law and supersedes local rules and regulations,” Paxton said in a letter to Austin Mayor Steve Adler and Travis County Judge Andy Brown.

“You and local health authorities have until 6:00pm today to rescind any mask mandates or business-operating restrictions and come into full compliance with GA-34,” Paxton wrote on Twitter. “Otherwise, on behalf of the State of Texas, I will sue you.”

He followed the threat with a taunt, writing, “City/county leaders must not be thinking clearly. Maybe it’s oxygen deprivation from quintuple-masking.””

WHAT are the tyrants doing?

Just a week after Abbot issued his order, officials in Austin and Travis County announced that they intend to contravene the order by keeping their existing health rules in place through April 15, with the possibility of extension. The rules were also updated to require everyone over the age of six to wear a face-covering when on or in city property, subject to a few exceptions. This rule is expected to expire on July 8.

“Wearing a face covering is one of the easiest ways to slow the transmission of disease in our community,” Dr. Mark Escott, Interim Austin-Travis County Health Authority,

We need to send in Gen Patton's replacement- make those who want to fight to take away our rights realize they are now on a battlefield and it isn't going to be a fair fight. Remind them this is Texas, bring up the Alamo to convince them their lockdown mask games are over.

It’s now quite easy for people in Texas at risk to get their vaccines, so any remaining ‘justification’ for masks are gone.

Nice to see our state government address the reality of today

I live in north Texas (Tarrant county) and for all intents and purposes nothing is changing. Virtually every grocery store and restaurant around here (including the one I work at) are still requiring masks to enter. So looking forward to burning the damn things.

I’m in SE TX.

We haven’t worn masks, all week, to stores or restaurants.

Some people are, but no one seems to mind our not wearing one.

I feel sorry for the workers who have to keep the germy things on, all day.

You’re overlooking the plurality of Americans who wholly and completely support the policies imposed by these “Control Freaks”. Without their support, these policies would have been gone long ago.

We live on the gulf coast of Florida where there’s no mask mandates per our governor but most businesses still have signs to wear the damn things. If you don’t there’s a mask nazi that “reminds” folks to put one on. We were having brunch at IHOP where I saw a fellow drop his mask on the dirty sidewalk, pick it up and put it on.
