Republican Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson signed Senate Bill 6 (SB6) on Tuesday that bans abortions unless the life of the mother is endangered.
Supporters of the controversial bill hope it could force the Supreme Court to revisit Roe v. Wade, though opponents intend to block it before the law takes effect later this year, according to The Associated Press.
“We must abolish abortion in this nation just as we abolished slavery in the 19th century – all lives matter,” said Republican state Sen. Jason Rapert, who is the bill’s sponsor.
Hutchinson was at first reluctant to sign the bill because it did not provide exceptions in the case of rape or incest, but explained in a statement why he ultimately decided to support it:
SB6 is a pro-life bill that prohibits abortion in all cases except to save the life of the mother in a medical emergency. It does not include exceptions for rape and incest.
I will sign SB6 because of overwhelming legislative support and my sincere and long-held pro-life convictions. SB6 is in contradiction of binding precedents of the U.S. Supreme Court, but it is the intent of the legislation to set the stage for the Supreme Court overturning current case law. I would have preferred the legislation to include the exceptions for rape and incest, which has been my consistent view, and such exceptions would increase the chances for a review by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I had such hope ACB would play a significant role in overturning Roe vs Wade
I now have no hope she will do diddly squat
And somewhere in the Diamond State a Judge is poised to issue the 21st Century’s Dred Scott decision that many lives do NOT matter.
SCOTUS: (trembling) Th-that’s , that’s kinda, controversial isn’t it? We don’t like to decide on stuff that has a lot of controversy and legal stuff to look up. Isn’t it time for another long recess?
Over the last couple of months the US Supreme Court has made it clear that they have no interest in honesty, decency or the rule of law. Never again will I depend on *any* court in this country to decide an issue correctly.
Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett have been huge disappointments. I don’t think the left has ever said the same thing about their judges.
The elections are the purview of the states, not the federal government.
It was cowardly of them to try to pass responsibility off.
The state legislatures have the power to investigate the elections in their states, but they won’t do it.
The ‘judges of the left’ have much easier jobs - all they have to do is rubber-stamp every leftist stance.
The judges who have more ‘right’ thinking have to actually...think, balance, and actually *judge*.
I think we still have a few judges of great integrity.
I bet kav and Amy Comey Barrett vote with the libs
Oh yeah! I mean after their solid performance on Obamacare, on stopping nationwide injunctions to harass Trump, on the election fraud and steal, on open government, etc etc.
If the Supremes are your hope, find another plan.
I see right through her. She wants the praise that comes along with liberal decisions. Trump went 1 for 3 on the Supreme Court. He shouldn’t have vetted his picks and the people should have voted for him without the list. I really want to see a non lawyer on the court
Agree! Red state voters must also step up and put pressure on their legislatures to assert their Constitutional role in presidential elections, even if it means revoking their delegation to state voters until red county voters can be assured they won’t be disenfranchised by blue city fraud. And if cowardly legislators won’t do that, they need to recruit candidates to primary them by running on this issue.
Does anyone really think this SCOTUS is going to do anything other than cater to the deep state cabal?
Three con artists.
lol
Yet a another barbic unconstitutional immoral evil legislation that does nothing to protect the God given rights, of the innocent that flat out keeps human abortion trucking along our laws are clear you cannot deny human life the right of due process and equal protection under the law.
The Supreme court are not law Roe V Wade is not law there’s nothing to overturn nothing at all the State governor has his moral duty oath of office to fully abolish and criminalize all of human abortion all life is sacred.
overturning Roe vs Wade
Anyone think Chief Justice Roberts will give that a chance?
My guess is that Asa would never have signed it without some assurance that it would get shot down in the USSC.
What would happen if we just ignored the supreme court...asking for a friend.
Tell your friend, America might actually survive the wrath of God after having murdered over 60 million of her own babies and leading the world to murder over one billion others worldwide since Roe v. Wade if we repent and ignore the court in our actions to stop the murder of millions of innocent baby people.
