South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday that GOP votes – especially that of Sen. Richard Burr – to convict former President Donald Trump in the impeachment trial opened the door for Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
She’s got a real shot at the North Carolina Senate race, Graham said.
“The biggest winner of this whole impeachment trial is Lara Trump,” said Graham on “Fox News Sunday.”
“My dear friend Richard Burr, who I like and have been friends with for a long time, just made Lara Trump almost the certain nominee for the Senate seat in North Carolina to replace him if she runs, and I’ll certainly be behind her because she represents the future of the Republican Party,” he said.

Why do we have to read about the latest crap from Linda Graham? Constantly, Constantly, Constantly, Constantly, Constantly. I am not the slightest bit interested in a single thing that he and the other never Trumpers are puking out.
Good for Lindsey Graham. A lot of people on FR have a bizarre hatred of the man, but he’s supportive of Trump and true GOP principles. He’s not totally predictable, but he was one of the first to support Trump after the election and actually donated $500,000 of his own money to the legal challenge. Unfortunately, the attorneys were worse than useless, but that’s another story.
In any case, the idea of Lara Trump running for that seat is interesting. Is she a resident of NC?
If the only thing Trump does in 2022 is torpedo Murkowski and Cheney I’ll be happy.

I just heard on the Saturday Podcast of Steve Bannon’s War Room that Linda Graham and McConnell set a trap for Trump to screw him over and further his troubles. Anyone who trusts either of these pieces of self-serving trash is nuts; if you shook their hands, you’d better count your fingers afterwards. Neither of them desires to help Trump in any truthful way, only to lead him into a trap. I don’t think Trump or his legal team fell into their trap, but it wasn’t made really clear whether he did or not.
I don’t hate him. He’s too easily frightened by media narratives into taking stupid positions at times, talks a big game on TV and foolishly got mixed up with McCain. But, I think he means well and was mostly there for Trump when he needed him. There are certainly lots worse in the Senate conference. I’d take him any day over the dirty 7.
