Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley has called on the country "to address the evil and scourge that is White supremacy," one month after pro-Donald Trump rioters stormed the US Capitol.
"One of the images that I'm haunted by is the Black custodial staff cleaning up the mess left by that violent White supremacist mob," the Massachusetts Democrat told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" Sunday, reflecting on her experience on Capitol Hill during the deadly siege on January 6.
"That is a metaphor for America. We have been cleaning up after violent, White supremacist mobs for generations and it must end."

Should a bitter fringe dictate how the rest of society lives?
The answer of course is no. If there were someway we could cull them from here in one fell swoop, it would be ok with me. What I fear is that with all the rhetoric being ginned up constantly in the media and worse one political party seemingly being led around by its nose by it, this may get to the point of a full blown race war over a growing minority of imbeciles and their fellow travelers. Slavery ended 150 years ago after a 4 year civil war. Trillions have been spent in trying to erase the inheritance of that system. Listening to the BLM crowd today, it is like nothing was done. Someone not telling the truth here.
