The long duration was a pill. Snow started around 1100 Sunday, took a pause for about four hours Monday morning then ramped up again around noon before finally winding down Tuesday at roughly 0930. Some places to the west got stuck in a slow moving band that continued the snow until well past sunset Tuesday.

Temperatures didn’t get much below freezing so cleanup has been fairly easy. Nothing like the back to back 20 inch snows three days apart in February of 2010.

That pair really put my plowing rule “always make room for one more” to the test.

Hey there, radu!

Thanks! It just seemed to be the right one. Hope you had a good day today. I have felt a bit stronger and less dead-headed today, which is a good thing.

It did get hung up up there for a while. The bottom end whipped through here fast, but up there it just sat. You were lucky to get only the 8 inches.

I thought it got a lot colder than it did. You were lucky with that, though that wind probably made being outside miserable. *shiver*

Did your plowing rule pass the test in 2010? :-) That was a lotta snow in short order.

Barely passed in 2010...very thankful that I had made room for one more with the first storm.

Winds didn’t really pick up this time around until about a half hour after I had all the equipment put away.

Very thankful that I hit the sweet spot between the end of he snow and the start of winds. Sometimes we don’t get that type of break.

Sounds like your steam is building back up nicely. Glad to hear it!

It was a pretty good day here. Chilly but sunny with no wind. I ran a couple of errands this afternoon didn’t mind being out.
Gonna be another “hurricane” day tomorrow as anther cold front moves in. *sigh*

Can’t beat teamwork!

Especially when there are no breakdowns.

At least it did pass and that’s pretty darn good considering all the snow you got. I’ve never lived up north during winter so have never experienced that kind of snowfall. Don’t want to which is why I’ve stayed in the south. LOL

You got really lucky with the wind. I saw a few short videos of wind in various areas under that storm and it looked awful. Very nice of Mother Nature to give you the break to clear your drive before it whipped in. :-)

Glad you had a good day today to make up for what’s coming tomorrow. The wind will be the kicker. Makes it seem much colder than it is. I’m glad you got your errands done before then.

I guess our cold front has been cancelled. Last weekend “they” said this coming Sunday would have a high of 39. By yesterday that had gone up to 59 and today to 73. No winter for us. I will have to be dragged kicking and screaming into summer this year. LOL!

Rabbi Goode briefly served a synagogue in my home town, where an elementary school was later dedicated to his memory.

Seems fitting to share the Jewish Kaddish prayer:

Mourners’ Kaddish

Glorified and sanctified be God’s great name throughout the world
which He has created according to His will.
May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days,
and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon;
and say, Amen.
May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.
Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored,
adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He,
beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that
are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.
May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
He who creates peace in His celestial heights,
may He create peace for us and for all Israel;
and say, Amen.

Our high tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid 50s and that’s not bad. It just won’t feel that great. It was 45 this afternoon while I was out and probably felt warmer than tomorrow will.

I reckon the arctic blast isn’t going to move as far south as they thought it would. We get a break, too, but it won’t be nearly as warm as your area. It’ll be pretty much what we’ve had the past few days - - nippy days and cold nights.
