The U.N. Says America Is Already Cutting So Much Carbon It Doesn’t Need The Paris Climate Accord
Forbes ^ | Dec 10, 2020 | Ellen R. Wald

Yesterday, The United Nations released its Emissions Gap Report 2020, an annual assessment of contributions to greenhouse gas and carbon emissions. The report has some notable information amid an array of complicated projections that may or may not come true. It claims, for instance, that “despite a brief dip in carbon dioxide emissions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is still heading for a temperature rise.”

But for the United States, the real value in this report is as an advisory that it need not join the Paris Climate Accord. This report is evidence that, instead, the U.S. should just keep doing what it is doing to cut its own emissions. The U.S. is the most successful major country at mitigating its own pollution, and the U.N. shows this.

According to the report, “the United States of America emits 13 per cent of global GHG emissions.” Comparatively, “China emits more than one-quarter of global GHG emissions.” The U.S. still contributes the most greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the world, but, over the last decade, the country’s GHG emissions have been in decline (0.4 per cent per year).“ Greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the U.S. are dropping precipitously while those of China, India and Russia continue to rise. With the world’s most successful economy (over $21 trillion in 2019), it is not a surprise that the U.S. pollutes more per person, but the U.S. is making great strides in changing this.

Democrats want Americans poor and dependent on gov for everything.

The poorer and dependent that people get, the less there will be for government to distribute via social programs, thus, making people even poorer and more dependent on things that won't be there.

That's simple logic that most democrats don't understand, but, democratic leaders don't care, since what they want most is total control of the economy and the people. Being helpless and hopeless, will make democrat dreams come true.

This kind of points to the insidious nature of these pacts. The real drive is towards globalism, world governance, potentially world taxes, e.g., carbon exchange and general socialism and redistribution of wealth from America to the rest of the lazy ass world. I think everyone in America wants clean air and water. They also want efficient and cheap energy. It is possible to have both without the globalism crap. Would I go for clean cheap energy? Certainly, but I want it through innovative market capitalism. I am not the least bit concerned about climate change. For God’s sake, give me warmth and another growing season. In the meantime, don’t cover up the true cost of energy with subsidies paid from taxes and regulations that picks winning and losing energy sources.

Nice to know, but the Democrat total war on the economy will continue under one “progressive” pretext or another.

“The Paris Climate Accord is a vehicle for globalist to redistribute wealth AND to destroy the sovereign right of Western nations to run their own economies.

It has nothing to do with “saving the planet”.”

Exactly right. Also do not forget the kickbacks.

they are only saying this because they know biden WILL join it-

They want our money- and they know they are in no danger of losing it by us not joining, so now they come out safely with a report that we don’t have to join. Funny how it comes out just days after biden is president- Had Trump known this during the debates- He could have pointed out that Joe still wanted us in the agreement to financially ruin us-

[[but, democratic leaders don’t care,]]

Nope- because they take a huge slice of what they steal from the rich when they redistribute it to the poor- They remain wealthy and powerful while everyone is reduced to living like we’re a third world country- Look at Kim in NK- rich as can be while his people literally starve to death

Why liberals would want to take a hugely successful system of capitalism that ensures anyone can make it as long as they work hard, and perhaps get a few breaks, and turn us into a third world crap hole is unfathomable- It’s hugely UnAmerican!

The left apparently have to destroy everything that is good ,decent, moral ,and highly successful - why people keep voting for this self destruction is beyond me-

“THE COMING ICE AGE!”

Don’t forget acid rain!

If you read geology you find out the earth’s climate has been all over the place i.e. river banks in the Sahara Desert.

Dr. Robert Forward (deceased) of Hughes Aerospace proposed sunlight levitated structures to hover over the Earth. These Static Satellites (Statites) are not in true orbit about the planet, but as solar sail propulsion devices, have the ability to station keep with the planet’s gravity providing an anchor.

They could provide extra insolation to counter a falling global temperature scenario. An early proposal called for these perpetual stations to hover over the Polar regions.

Also refer to Vladimir Syromyatnikov‘s work with illuminating areas upon the Earth with solar reflective light-sail devices.

The Corporations are basically doing it. The Left took them over.

China can do whatever it wants, so it just means it’s more feasible to move manufacturing there.

You think China cares what the UN thinks?

In fact, their proposals would lead to less energy, no heat and death for those without any means to chop down all the trees surrounding them in order to survive.

TREES
I don't think so, anyone caught cutting down a tree would be subject to fines and flogging.
It's a good thing I have been stock piling old tires for years.
