This is why THEY are so nervous, from Romney to Cheney to Kristol. Because Pence fears ONLY God, and will not be swayed by mannon, as are they all. Or so we have been led to believe. We will find out in less than 48 short hours.

The writer might not understand the definition of plenary.

Damn them all to Hell!

What you said. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott from SC are a total loss. I am so disgusted with both of them.

Hmm, much like throwing sh*t against the wall and hoping something sticks too I suppose, eh?

Or maybe even along the lines of Einstein’s parable of Quantum Insanity?

The FIX is in, whether we want to admit or acknowledge such and no amount of sh*t thrown against a wall is going to change that short of a miracle.

No it isn't, on both counts. He's about the billionth blogger to make this ridiculous argument, and he doesn't even make it particularly well.

You act like your opinion of the Constitution is the only right opinion when in fact none of our opinions matter at all. What the Constitution says doesn't matter one whit, only what the person in charge says it says matters. Ever watch a speaker or chair of any committee make a ruling that was so outrageous it couldn't possibly stand, yet it did?

silent majority rising above said when the Supremes butt in, Pence can tell them they have no standing, whether he made the comment with tongue in cheek or not I don't know, but who can tell him he can't say that?

If that was even close to being true, then every Vice President would literally be a king-maker.

That is a true statement only because no VP has ever assumed that power. I have watched two impeachments where the Chief Justice is installed as the President of the Senate and has absolute power over the Senate, but they continually yielded to the Senate Historian when making decisions, which yielded his power to custom not black letter law. Great legal minds at work there.

He should bring in a “Kraken voting machine” and throw the results in there for a few minutes, let the papers whirl around, then have a quick look and say, “Trump wins. See ya.”

If there was fraud, the election is void.

It is not necessary to quantify the fraud

The existence of any fraud is all that is necessary to declare all invalid

My opinion of the Constitution is right because it's actually based on a reading of the Constitution, the law, and history. The author's opinion is Constitutionally illiterate and based on nothing more than (perversely) wishful thinking.

What the Constitution says doesn't matter one whit, only what the person in charge says it says matters. Ever watch a speaker or chair of any committee make a ruling that was so outrageous it couldn't possibly stand, yet it did?

That's how it works where there's no rule of law. We still have the rule of law in this country, thank God. I've seen what it's like where they don't.

silent majority rising above said when the Supremes butt in, Pence can tell them they have no standing, whether he made the comment with tongue in cheek or not I don't know, but who can tell him he can't say that?

Pence might say that if he was an idiot and terminally confused by the doctrine of standing. But he isn't. Pence is going to follow the law as he always does and fulfill his role under the 12th Amendment and the Electoral Count Act.

If Mike Pence is a CHRISTIAN, he will NOT hand this country over to Congressional INSURRECTIONISTS in a CRIMINAL ELECTION aided by an ACT OF WAR by the CCP.
TRUMP’S WIN WAS FAIR AND SQUARE.

“For the purposes of the joint session, his powers are enumerated in the Constitution, and extremely limited”

We agree on that. The history behind it is tied to the awareness of the framers: knowing how dangerous it was to allow the legislature to be ruled by an Executive, they provided real limits. But, those limits exist in SPAN not in FUNCTION. Pence is the PRESIDING EXECUTIVE only in narrowly defined circumstances... BECAUSE OF THE POWER that he DOES HAVE when so presiding.

If it were intended to be a “ceremonial” role there would be no reason, and they would not have wasted the ink, to put it in the Constitution... “as if” it were a plenary power... rather than mere theater.

“The Vice President’s role in counting the electoral votes is perfunctory. He’s the congressional equivalent of Vanna White”.. is a lie, being perpetrated by those intent on USING that lie to win acceptance of FRAUD from those duty bound to prevent it.

The VP is the SOLE AUTHORITY who will PRESIDE over the election on January 6th. Show me, in the Constitution, where it provide ANY POWER... to ANYONE ELSE... to DIRECT the VP in how he proceeds, or to do a damned thing about HOW the VP uses that power the Constitution gives ONLY him ?

Requiring the law be followed... is not a Hail Mary.

The Hail Mary... is the effort being made to convince people to IGNORE the law... and validate FRAUD as legitimate.

That WILL NOT work... it is not legitimate... and it will not be accepted as legitimate.

The writer might not understand the definition of plenary.

Plenary power
A plenary power or plenary authority is a complete and absolute power to take action on a particular issue, with no limitations. It is derived from the Latin term plenus ("full").
