Bill Gates-backed plan to dim the sun quietly moves forward

Bill Gates is now best known as a philanthropist, not the guy who started Microsoft or was the avatar for everyone's annoyance with Windows 95.

He's also known for wanting to save us from ourselves.

Now, apparently, he wants to save us from the sun.

However, while you may have been paying attention to his efforts on vaccination and lockdowns, you may not have noticed that one of Gates' most controversial causes just got a go-ahead: A project that would help block out the sun.

According to Reuters, a Harvard University project plans to test out a controversial theory that global warming can be stopped by spraying particles into the atmosphere that would reflect the sun's rays.

Well, Gates might try plugging the volcanoes or something before messing with our only source of heat and light....just saying.

These are going to be carried aloft by a Delta rocket. Once 500 billion have been deployed, average planet temps should drop. And the oceans recede. Glaciers everywhere. Should be a good time.

Were not all the climate porn screamers yelling about..

Hmmsss... Aircraft contrails and exhaust. Oh and dust particles in the sky, what was that called. Oh. Pollution, air pollution was it not.

Now this bag of sheep’s sweet meats is gonna spread a covering of reflective particles in the upper surface of the atmosphere.

FFS that will kill the solar energy business, not to mention the complete and total rapid onset of terraforming.

We now know that they really are mentally deranged from soy-boy through to Tech Giants.

while we’re at it, why don’t we drill to center of earth and dump in all the icebergs that are floating out at sea to cool the mantle of the earth so that global warming will abate? Then we can tackle painting all the seashores, national parks, parking lots, shopping districts, mini malls, sport’s stadiums, etc with reflective paints, And then install giant air conditioners to cool off the desserts, and melt all the mountaintop glaciers and snow caps to cool off the valleys below- and then...

They've been doing that for years. They're called chemtrails. The gullible among us have been punk'd into calling them contrails. There's just one small problem: contrails dissipate, they don't spread out and cover the sky.

Admittedly, chemtrails is a misnomer. That stuff isn't chemicals, it's atomized aluminum and it's designed to reflect the sunrays back into space. That's why you see those weird sunbows.

Bill Gates is chomping at the bit to let the cat out of the bag but it will probably take a little more time. You'd think the guy would be happy with the bazillions of dollars he already has but obviously he's got his sights set on being a gazillion, not just some slummy bazillionaire.

Everything i think about people like him, I’m reminded of a poem

Who knows what lurks in the minds of jerks, and the hearts of evil men?

One of the worlds foremost rocket scientists told me that if global warming turned into a huge deal we could just change the orbit of the Earth.

He said we could easily do it with current technology.

Gates is a Johnny come lately. I already proposed the solution in a post years ago - Venetian blinds in low-earth orbit. They can be adjusted as needed to cool/warm the earth.

And no, I don’t know who’s going to dust those things.

It's already being done. They call them "volcanoes".

I thought the whole point of climate change was as a means to transfer billions of dollars to African despots in the form of “carbon credits”, not to actually fix anything.

> There's just one small problem: contrails dissipate, they don't spread out and cover the sky.

Contrail dissipation depends entirely on the air near the contrail. Sometimes they dissipate almost immediately, other times they linger for minutes or even an hour or more. And sometimes they spread out, though I will agree that I've never seen a single contrail "cover the sky". I have seen a sky criss-crossed by dozens of contrails that persisted for over an hour. There was a terrific sunset display that evening also, and I'm sure that's related.

And while condensed water vapor is a chemical (with formula H2O), it's not what people call a "chemtrail" per se.

> Admittedly, chemtrails is a misnomer. That stuff isn't chemicals, it's atomized aluminum...

Not to give you a hard time, but aluminum is a chemical. In fact it's an elemental chemical. And "atomized", it's still a chemical, just human-processed.

Not all "chemicals" have long, complicated names or formulas.

So in sum, if these crazed, SOB maniacs start spreading particles in the upper atmosphere, they most definitely WILL be chemtrails.

The basic idea is not absurd, being based on sound physics and advocated by conservative physicist Edward Teller during the Reagan administration as a solution to global warming. The broader category of geo engineering also deserves a full research program, especially the potential to increase CO2 absorption by ocean fertilization. Notably, a side benefit could be to make the seas more productive.

If you're ever in the neighborhood of my little neck of the woods called Northern California (aka The State of Jefferson), stop by on a Tuesday or Saturday and we'll enjoy a case of Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot or A Hazy Little Thing (that sounds more appropriate) and we'll sit out on our front deck and watch those things cover the skies all day and yell at cars that are driving too fast. It'll be fun. Mrs.. Eagle might even make us tuna fish sandwiches and her famous 7 layer taco dip.
