Summary: The foods we eat may have a direct impact on our cognitive acuity in our later years, according to new research. The study is the first of its kind to connect specific foods with cognitive decline. The findings show cheese protected against age-related cognitive problems and red wine was related to improvements in cognitive function.

Doubt it. The Communists in Congress have been whining for the last four years and they’re mental ability is zero.
Funded by France.
But you’ll die of Heart disease and cirrhosis of the liver first...............
Don’t look now, but another thread on this very topic was just posted. Not the end of the world, tho.
The topic is interesting.
ooohh, voulez voudrais un banguette avec votre vine et fromage??? oui oui
Something to do with blood brain barrier.
I have the cheese covered, obviously this works. I have never seen a cheese log I didn’t covet and I’m a genius
I wonder if its the flavonoids? in wine or the alcohol itself. Have no idea about cheese other than it makes you drink more wine. Got milk?...er...cheese?
How about beer? Beer is a vital part of my daily health plan.
Okay, stretching it just a little (well a massive stretch
truth be known).
Vitamin K2 and resveratrol.
Both have been known for more than a century.
Cheese has lactic acid and is very soothing. True cheese fans (like me) actually have an addictive reaction to pictures of cheese! Mouth starts to water, etc. Researchers say that this is because human beings are pre-programmed to seek lactic acid (in all milks and milk products, including human breast milk) as a survival mechanism, and that this is also the reason it works as a calmative for sleep etc. Cheese is easier for adults to digest.
Red wine, of course, is full of anti-oxidants, but all alcohols are vasodilators and (unless you drink too much) lower your blood pressure at least with the first drink, which should probably be the only one. However, red wine seems to be good in general. Also, to me it’s more like a food, so it’s hard to want to drink to much of it.
Although sporadic gout episodes is a problem for heavy drinkers. Gout is uric acid buildup mostly in the feet (especially big toe), but sometimes around joints like the knee. It's harmless and not that painful and usually goes away if the drinker cuts back for a few days and drinks more water.
I'm not a Doctor, but I have stayed at a Motel 6.
I’ll have to pick a week to start drinking.
Never in my life did I care for alcohol.
Lifelong migraine sufferer. I can feel bad for free and spare my liver.
I’m gonna live forever.

Good one
I think having more fat in your diet (as opposed to sugar) is actually conducive to good health. When you eat sugar, your body stores it as fat. But when you eat fat, your body burns it right away. Now I'm talking fat from original sources, not in processed foods.
I'm no doctor or scientist but that's what my body tells me anyhow.
Are you aware there are herbs for migraines?
Unless your lactose intolerant like me. I have to use Lactaid before I eat cheese or drink milk with my cereal.
Side note: I question the old meme that a drink of alcohol kills millions of brain cells. I'm 71 next month and sharp as targ after spending much of my later retired life looking at the bottom of a bottle. Hmm, that sounds like country song.
Seriously folks, unless a person actually develops Alzheimer's, my reading of American and World events has kept my cognitive abilities like reasoning, logic, deduction the same, maybe more before I came political. Although, apparently I forgot what a run-on sentence looks like...Ha. I read once that those brain cells that are killed transfer through the synapses to other cells even with the billions of brain cells I've killed.
