The US topped 15 million cases of COVID-19 this week but that number is likely exponentially higher — by as much as seven times, a top Centers for Disease Control and Prevention official said on Thursday.
Aron Hall, co-lead of the agency’s epidemiology task force, offered the startling statistic during a virtual hearing over Pfizer/BioNTech’s coronavirus vaccine.

"Exponent" means whatever you want it to mean.
Good thing we’re wearing masks so we won’t get COVID! /s
Or get it, treat it, recover from it, move on.
We did, back in Feb.
“exponentially higher”
That must mean a lot.
I see it as the reverse.
It looks like herd immunity is closer.
Colds are unstoppable, at anytime millions could have one. It is sheer madness to think we could ever mitigate it as a whole. Only individuals can protect themselves as it has always been throughout time.
This would be great news. Means it’s mostly harmless and has burnt itself out.
That would make the Covid-19 death rate “exponentially” lower.
It sounds even more erudite than “100 times smaller’l
If you are not sick enough to be hospitalized, or even TESTED, why is this bad?
So let’s all get it and get it over with.
and the mortality rate moves closer to the flu...
10 times higher may get you in the exponential range, seven not so much. But in the Bible I have learned a number of 7 means “a lot” and 7x77 would be like infinity.
If that is so, the death rate is much less than we’ve been told.....and we just might be close to herd immunity.
Apparently, in the Sac area, they are leaving patients in the Ambulances which brought them to the hospital instead of bringing them into the hospitals.
Then, the patients are treated in the ambulance that brought them to the hospital.
Later, stabilized patients are brought back to their homes in the same ambulances which brought them to the hospital.
2 retired RN’s told me this might be better than bringing the really sick patients into the hospitals’s overloaded and understaffed ICU’s.
IOW...I agree with you.
I believe that COVID Deaths are exponentially overstated!
There must be bodies everywhere.
So does this change the death rate from COVID-19 Wuhan virus?
Maybe, but in the end the death rate all over the world remains the same - one per person.
Just not all from COVID-19 Wuhan virus.
