The 2017-2018 influenza epidemic is sending people to hospitals and urgent-care centers in every state, and medical centers are responding with extraordinary measures: asking staff to work overtime, setting up triage tents, restricting friends and family visits and canceling elective surgeries, to name a few. Tallia says his hospital is âmanaging, but just barely,â at keeping up with the increased number of sick patients in the last three weeks. The hospitalâs urgent-care centers have also been inundated, and its outpatient clinics have no appointments available.

A good year for Batesville Casket here in Indiana.
And likely helping the financials of the Soc Sec system.
Maybe that’s offset by Medicare costs?
Our won elected officials and governmet is killing its people, its time we take it back and punish those responsible!
Historically, hospitals have considerably more patients during flu season.
Also, read this article. It appears the total of deaths from ALL causes this year (including COVID) is not much different from total deaths from ALL causes in previous years
Here in Macon, Ga, the hospitals and ERs were slap full in Dec 2019 - March 2020. I know because an elderly loved one went to the ER multiple times in this time span and had to wait for a room, sometimes on a gurney in the hallway. She ended up dying from the flu/pneumonia in April 2020 (she had multiple covid tests).
These are Oregon total death stats for past several years, ....THIS tells the TRUTH...each State likely has similar stats...a “friend” on MEWE posted this...
From the Oregon website, the number of total DEATHS since 2015. Here you go:
2015- 35,709
2016- 35,799
2017- 36,640
2018- 36,191
2019- 37,397
And here you go...YEAR TO DATE
(December 1) 2020........32,330!
And for this we are allowing a tyrannical Governor to destroy our state??? I for one, am not going to be quiet. You better research the “plan” and make some NOISE!!!

COVID-19 Pt. 2: CDC’s New “PIC” and The Hidden Data:
“Most people aren’t aware that the CDC has lumped influenza together with Covid and pneumonia in death rates with a new name called “PIC.” This comes after the CDC confirmed that only 6% of Covid-related death certificates indicate Covid as the only cause, while 94% list other illnesses as the cause with an average of 2.6 comorbidities.” ~~

The Johns Hopkins Newsletter: A closer look at U.S. deaths due to COVID-19:
” ... the total decrease in deaths by other causes almost exactly equals the increase in deaths by COVID-19. This suggests, according to Briand, that the COVID-19 death toll is misleading. Briand believes that deaths due to heart diseases, respiratorydiseases, influenza and pneumonia may instead be recategorized as being due to COVID-19.”
I have had horrible back pain the past 3 day. Up at 4:30am barely able to move. My doc...including local clinics would NOT take me because of the scare.
Finally went to an ER the next town over and got a sterod shot.
Unreal.
Other people have needs as well.
Our own fellow citizens who think they know better
Are now paid to lie to us
And get angry when we dont believe the lies
Reminds me, throughout the past couple decades, every time I took someone to the ER and they were admitted all the beds were ‘full’ already. They had to wait hours for someone to get discharged before they could get a room.
No, they will have to wait with their cancer, heart problems, liver issues, blot clots, high blood pressure and BS problems. COVID is where the Sh*t got REAL!
I went to the emergency room for flu in January 2018 . Was having trouble breathing.
Never made into the emergency room.
They had setup a triage out in the waiting room where one waits for people to be discharged from hospital room after an operation.
Anyway, the emergency room was full and so was this triage.
Saw the doctor 2 minutes. “Come back if it gets worse” was all he said.
H1N1 in 2011. Acute Respiratory Distress. If I presented now as I did then, I would surely had been intubated. (Have lung scarring now)
My NP was annoyed as hell that other problems are “second fiddle” with these places.
I was lucky to get the treatment I did.
The steroid shot and Norco tab seemed to help. Earlier muscle relaxers didn’t do crap. And that was a full tab. I always take half because they make me so woozy.

Just asking...
Whoa!!
Did my eyes see the source right? Time Magazine?
OOPS, 2clever got too clever by substituting his headline, for the one from the article. Not that what you said isn’t true, just that Time would never put out such a headline,
If you want to see what the CDC website actually says about that, the information is at this link. Scroll down to the graph that says, "Weekly number of deaths (from all causes)". It goes back to January 2017, so it includes the excess deaths from the 2017-2018 flu season.
