Aunt Bee thought she had the best.
Great episode.
Funny memory.
I like kosher dills. The best ones are from the deli near Detroit where I get my pastrami.
Half-sour kosher dills made by Bubbiieâs.

Pickle spears in a poured Miller Lite. Adding extra juice is a bonus.

I had an elderly neighbor who would brine cucumbers in old butter churns, best pickles I’ve ever tasted. She also used the same churns to ferment cabbage to make kraut, best ever. God rest her soul.
I would kill for a good mustard pickle, I love pickles, kimchi, kazami, claussen makes a dynamite HOT dill pickle that puts Mt olive to shame and who amongst us has not taken a swig of the pickle brine on a foggy brained morning?
Thanks! that recipe sounds like a classic!
The Red apple sure didn’t fall far from the tree. (But I still listen to Alice’s Restaurant every Thanksgiving.)
I made 25 quarts of MI dill pickles the last 2 months, hopefully that’ll last me the season. Friends and family come over and they leave with a jar or 2, I use triple the dill and it makes much better than store bought IMHO.
I here ya, it actually happened to me.
Officer Jerry Grubb busted me and a bunch oh sailors on a beach in Pensacola, and this grubb guy shows up in court with the 8x10 photos with the circles and arrows!
The best bit was the judge thought officer grubb was a nut and dismissed the case.
You’ll never see those jars again :(

I was really concerned with tracking the jars when I was in Thailand, they cost $3+ a piece if you could find them, but here I can easily get a dz with lids for under $10, so no problem.
A box of lids can cost over $6 here, but if you shop right you can get a case of jars with lids with around $8. So I am just going to buy the jars and don’t worry about getting them back.
I don’t know if they make green mango pickles in Thailand, but that green papaya salad rocks.
