MSNBC host Joy Reid used a racial slur Wednesday against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, calling him "Uncle Clarence."
"If somehow [the Trump campaign] manage to stumble into the Supreme Court, do any of you guys trust Uncle Clarence and Amy Coney Barrett and those guys to actually follow the letter of the law? No," she said. "It is a completely politicized Supreme Court that you can't just trust that they're going to do the right thing."
The "Uncle Tom" slur derives from the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin and is a derogatory term for an African-American man viewed as overly deferential to whites. The staunchly liberal Reid has also referred to "Uncle Clarence" in a pair of recent tweets.

Clarence Thomas is one of my favorite Americans. A truly dignified man who possesses a wonderful intellect and grounded wisdom.
He has been treated very poorly by our disgusting media, academia, and leftist everywhere.

Dont know all the details but basically black female called black male an Uncle Tom because she thought he did something that he didnt really do. She thought he voted one way when he really voted her way.
This was such a big deal that they took down their live feeds for more than a day because of the fall out.
It seems to be common to use the Uncle Tom term when a black person doesnt like something another black person does.
Btw, black male is not speaking to black female now that they are back in society

If I remember the novel correctly, Uncle Tom allowed himself to be beaten to death, rather than reveal the whereabouts of two runaway slaves. That is hardly the act of a coward. Perhaps those who use the term mistake his Christian charity for servility.
