A missing thumb drive for a ballot scanner forced the Lancaster County elections office to recount more than 21,000 in-person absentee ballots late Tuesday night, leaving the results of local races in question at presstime. The recounted ballots represent 42% of the countys vote total in the election, so they could affect the results of almost every race. Rick Crimminger, chairman of the Lancaster County Election Commission, said no one is sure what happened to the thumb drive.

Just a guess but it may never have been installed in the first place.
If so that should be a final check before the machine is placed in
service. Who knows it may have been deliberate or just of attention.

Breaking News: Missing thumb drive forces recount Updated: 12:09 am Yup. South Carolina, not Pennsylvania
So, tell me, how can they know how many votes were affected yet they don't know which thumb drive is missing?

Its not my headline. I didnt write the article. Were not supposed to create our own headlines. I posted the state in the Topics, just like I was supposed to do. I sure wish people would look at the Topics before complaining the state is not identified when it is.

The article says they noticed a problem because only 17 votes were showing on that machine. That suggests to me that the drive was there for some of the votes, but removed at some point.

How does a voting machine even have a thumb drive?
I have a few friends who work for the government at many levels, the USB ports on their laptops are glued shut.

From the article:
We knew something was up when it only showed 17 recorded ballots, Crimminger said.
How did it show any votes at all, if the thumb drive is missing? And what is it? The voting machine, or something else? Do those 17 votes represent votes that were cast before the drive was removed, or after?

What else is there to say? We know they’re trying to steal this election. Missing thumb drive my behind! It’s all BS. Every freedom loving American, regardless of their political affiliation, ought to be pissed that our elections are being run as if we were in a Third World country.
