The NFL may be beginning to show signs of a ratings rebound for its daytime windows, however, primetime is still in the midst of a massive decline.
The Week 7 edition of Sunday Night Football featured the Seahawks and the Cardinals, an exciting contest between two of the most exciting teams in the league. Though, the contest only averaged a 7.9 rating and 14.31 million viewers. That figure represents a 35 percent decline from last years Week 7 matchup between the Cowboys and the Eagles(12.2), and a 33 percent decline in viewership (21.45 million).

Boohoo. Epic fail of overpaid junkies and pedos
Thats what happens when you antagonize 50% of your audience.
Nice, the individual American has the power
Sure, a large part of this crash in pro sports viewing is in response to the insufferable wokeness of the leagues and players.
But I think as much of it comes the circuses seeming trivial and irrelevant at this that the world is starting to slip under global, techno-nightmare, totalitarian communism without more than a wimper.
I have come to the conclusion that the typical American miller lite mancave dwellers would watch the NFL if they burned the American flag in each corner of the endzone and made it illegal for whites to play.
Honestly, I have better things to do with my time... Like cleaning out the toe-jam between my toes.

“The exploding, record-setting numbers on primetime cable news networks suggests that people are far more intrigued by politics than sports.”
Definitely. And FR apparently has such miller lite mancave dwellers from the way they promote this crap. They have their own little FR tailgate parties over in chat.
I love these NFL/NBA/MLB rating crash stories!
I’ll 2nd that. Hoping the financial lesson (on a devastating level) drives change.
It doesn’t help that a lot of the teams in the largest media markets are totally unwatchable.
Imagine being a football fan in New York - the single largest media market. Giants 1-6, Jets 0-7, with neither team playing at a pro level.
Even if you don’t care about the pozzed politics, you’ll see better games from college teams.
True. Now is not the time for distractions.
Sports no longer crosses my mind, with the exception of pondering how I ever gave a damn.
I know many good people that won’t give it up. They have blinders on. Part of me understands ..they like sports, they like their team...and won’t let them take it away from them...but to me it is over. They are actively rooting against America.
They don’t want Repubs watching their game anyway.
I think what’s happening is people just watch the condensed highlights on YouTube.
Well who the hell wants to sit around in their den with only the “D” painted on their chest??! It’s a lonely place for a fan in lockdown..
That's probably a big part of it. I'm not a sports fan but I have noticed that things that used to give me some measure of pleasure don't anymore. There's always that unease or tension in my head that follows me into every act during the day.
Good. Screw them. Ever since they hopped in bed with Kapernick, I have hoped they will go bankrupt.
