A federal judge in South Carolina ruled Tuesday that local election authorities cannot discard absentee ballots whose signatures do not match those on file.
U.S. District Judge Richard Mark Gergel, an appointee of President Barack Obama, said that the signature authorization procedures being used by local authorities were subjective.

ACB arrived just in time I hope.
I agree with the judge. Because I do not remember if I signed voter registration in lower case or upper case. And there is no way for me to find out. I have a habit of using both when signing depending on my mood at the moment.
In other words, as long as a piece of paper with a box checked for Biden exists, it must be counted with no verification as to the validity.
Got it.
America! What a country.....
Was there not just a majority decision by SCOTUS that raised this very issue? On what basis can a Federal judge overrule the intent and law passed by a state legislature?
A good one for the Supremes.
Liberals have made a mockery of our election process.
They destroy everything they touch.
Yes and this judge is in contempt.

Isn’t it always subjective to compare signatures?
“I agree with the judge.”
Yes, FraudCo’s judgie has our best interests at heart.
Why WOULDN’T he?
Supremes will reverse.

Hmmm... you should have learned to sign your name in cursives. ;-)
Can and will this be appealed to the Supreme Court? It seems that if the law says they must match, what is the judge saying that its OK if they dont?
Just one more reason to vote in person.
It won’t stand on appeal. Judges can’t change voting laws.
“...what is the judge saying that its OK if they dont?”
Nearly everyone will sign something a bit differently every time. In fact a perfect match is a sign of forgery. But, except apparently for a poster above, just about everyone will sign their name pretty much the same way.
This judge is apparently saying that two completely different signatures have to be accepted because someone is making some kind of subjective judgement as to whether or not they match. If you think about it, he is saying that signatures should not be used at all, which is changing the law.
I wonder if he feels the same way about his checks or signed affidavits in his court?
One judge in SC...and it apparent he is on the criminal take.
Yeah Yeah, I have made many blunders in my life. Not learning cursive may be one of them.
According to this judge your ballot will be accepted if someone else wrote your name in cursive.
Then why bother having signatures at all?
