We're way past "normal" times, but in any world that remotely resembles "normal", Bobulinski came with enough credibility, facts and receipts to bury Joe Biden's Presidential campaign six feet below the surface of the Earth.

The most explosive part to me was the revelation that Hunter Biden was acting as Ye Jianming's personal lawyer even as Ye, as chairman of the Chinese CCP-linked energy company "CEFC", was negotiating the purchase of a 14% state in Russia's state-owned energy company. If that's not somehow treasonous, I don't know what would be.
But there's lots else . . .
Hunter was an officer in the US Navy. Should he not be investigated by the FBI as a precaution? A future war with China is not improbable. Sheesh, the shit that the Bidens get away with.

When he made some movement toward legitimizing what they were actually up to, however, he was told "No," and that must have alerted them that he was a straight shooter who didn't really understand the role they'd expected him to play. So they faded out on him, the money never appeared, and later he discovered they just went around him, got theirs, and let it collapse. There are probably several other people they did this with too, who either went along with it, or allowed themselves to be quietly dropped.

It seems to have been an investment company that invested in gas and oil. Burisma - of which this is sort of Act 2 - actually was involved in controlling gas and oil pipelines and sales, which were a point of conflict between Ukraine and Russia (as well as Romania and just about every other country in the region).
During the Burisma episode, it looks as if all of our foreign policy was based on promoting Hunter’s attempts to get control of different gas pipelines, working through the corrupt leaders of countries in Eastern Europe, the Orient and even Latin America. He knew nothing about the business, but was good at getting his company front and center for any benefits from his connections, which was why he was valuable to them.
He then segued into the Chinese stuff, and that was when Bobulinski, a legitimate businessman who had founded and run investment companies, was brought in as a sort of front man. Biden wasn’t in office at that point, but it was shortly after he left and obviously it didn’t happen overnight but had been in the works while Biden was still VP.
Making an American hero into a fall guy is the worst part of this story.
Coming out is his insurance policy.
And the obvious reply is "I've released the last two decades of my tax returns and you've released none.

It was answered above. He never invested the money and later found out that the Chinese (and Biden’s) went behind his back and gave the 5M directly to Hunter.
It was basically a scam from the get-go. He got snookered. Then Adam Schiff accused him of being part of some Russia, Russia, Russia shenanigans and he pretty much said that was the last straw.
Interesting stuff. Just imagine for one second this was Don Jr. instead of Hunter.
