Authorities have charged a man for allegedly lighting a ballot box on fire and damaging dozens of ballots in Boston over the weekend, police said Monday. The Boston Election Department said 87 of the 122 ballots inside the dropbox were legible and able to be processed, but the rest were destroyed or unable to be counted.
Worldly Armand, 39, was taken into custody late Sunday after officers matched his appearance with the description of a person wanted for the alleged arson, police said. After a query by the officers, they found Armand was wanted on a warrant out of a local court for receiving stolen property. He will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of willful and malicious burning.
Police said smoke was coming out of a ballot box near Copley Square early Sunday morning and firefighters extinguished the fire by filling it with water. The Boston Police Department released photos to help find the culprit.

Maine already has it, and it RUINED their last election.

Yes. I had some special insight into THAT travesty.
I was vacationing in Maine during that election cycle back in 2018, and was sitting in a bar watching a football game, and a commercial for Jared Golden came on.
Now, when you watch television in a bar, most of the time there is no sound, so I watched the video, and was curious.
He looked like someone I would vote for. A veteran, they showed lots of images of him in uniform, and showed him at a shooting range, so I thought “Ok. A 2nd Amendment guy...veteran...seems okay.”
The going thing nowadays is for candidates like him NOT to put their party affiliation ANYWHERE in the commercial, so I assumed he was a 2nd Amendment, veteran, Republican candidate. (knowing nothing about Maine politics)
When I was looking at election results on Election Day, I thought “Wow. That guy was a Democrat. But...he lost to the Republican candidate” or so I had thought as the results flowed in.
I was curious, and looked up Jared Golden, and saw that not only was a Democrat, he was classified by many as a ANTI-2nd Amendment person, and in some cases, as a “Gun Grabber”.
Then I saw that somehow, someway, he had defeated the Republican in the race. And I found out it was due to ranked voting. The first time that had happened.
Burning GOP votes....
When the Michigan man did a satire of a genune toilet on his lawn with a joke sign “Official Mail-in Ballot Drop Box” the State of Michigan (Whitmer and her henchwomen AG & aides) actually served him with arrest papers. “Confusing voters who might think this is an official site.” As Biden says “C’mon, now.”
What is “ranked voting?”
From what I understand, even if the Republican comes in #1 in ranked voting, they add up all the others (2 through 5 or 6 or whatever) and conclude that a majority voted AGAINST the #1. And so they award it to #2.
Sigh. I wish it were 50-50. But having lived in this state long enough, there are so many useful idiots who are going to respond favorably to the ad campaign:
“More Voice, More Choice.
Vote Yes on Question 2 on or by November 3, 2020 to enact Ranked Choice Voting by 2022, giving Massachusetts voters a stronger voice when we cast our ballots, and guaranteeing that our elected leaders are supported by a true majority.”
I would be willing to bet $5K right now to say it passes. And I am not a gambling man...:(

I suspect Election Day will actually be easier. What we’re not set up for is the number of early voters.
In my county of 120,723 voting-age adults, there is exactly ONE place to do early voting. On Election Day, there will 29 voting locations.
