The city of Berkeley urged residents of the hills to consider staying elsewhere amid what is expected to be the year's biggest wind event set to begin Sunday.
"Hills residents should consider pre-emptively evacuating to the homes of friends, family, or to hotels until dangerous weather subsides," a press release from Berkeley reads.
Warning of the potential for wildfires during the wind event and possible blocked roads and exit routes due to fallen trees, the press release urged Hills residents to "reduce the risk to your household" by leaving Sunday afternoon before a fire starts, especially for those residents who could have trouble evacuating quickly or leaving by foot.
The city also urged residents in the hills to "stay on heightened alert [and] keep phones charged".

California puke politicians giving away tax dollars to illegals, homeless, drug addicts and social programs instead of taking care of the tax payers
What I’m hearing “we’re going to start a fire amd claim we predicted it. It will be global warming.”
Evacuation orders is a call to action for looters, burglars and home invaders.
The police in California always tell use the roads will be blocked so looters can’t come in - hell, they just go around the side or over the top and enter that way.
I know people who won’t leave their homes for this very reason.
It sure does sound they are planning to commit arson.
It sounds like an invitation for looting to me.
Arson, looting, or both.
What is the “wind event”? How much wind and why?
Partly to mostly cloudy and windy. Low 54F. Winds NNE at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
They’re recommending a bug out for THAT?!
Note to Berkeley voters: You boneheads can run away from the weather, but the pols you elected who are the ones responsible for this cluster will still be there when you get back.
You know, the wind that comes out of Sacramento from the bloviating democrat government officials and representatives. That wind event. :))
Santa Ana winds. The land is cooler than the water, reveres of the fog event flows, the wind comes up due to warmer water, the wind comes down the mountains coastal hills getting faster and warmer.
Run for the hills!!!
Thank you. You’d have thought they would have said that. An event makes it sound like Mardi Gra.

Assume the power is slated to be out simultaneously.
Good to know where they’ve slated to burn next.
And to keep your phones charged in a third world economy when they turn of the power from the windmills when ever the wind blows is quite an accomplishment.
GEEE-—IF the bars & restaurants were open, we could flee to there & watch football, etc.
Gruesom Newsom is a tyrant.
