Sudan is to normalise relations with Israel, US President Donald Trump says - the latest in a series of Arab League countries to do so.
There had been growing speculation Sudan would announce ties in return for being removed from the US list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Sudan had been a foe of Israel since the latter's founding in 1948.
It comes weeks after similar moves by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.
The two Gulf states became the first in the Middle East to recognise Israel in 26 years.
Jordan signed a peace deal with Israel in 1994, and Egypt in 1979. Mauritania, an African Arab League member, recognised Israel in 2009 but severed ties 10 years later.
The growing number of Arab countries formalising relations with Israel has been condemned by the Palestinians, who see it as a betrayal of their cause.

Trump should establish Trump Peace Prize. who cares about the one Obama received.
And if Trump doesn’t receive the Nobel Peace Prize, they may as well eliminate the award.
WOW!
Very Nice!
too bad we are the only ones that will know about this...
I can’t even keep up with this man’s accomplishments.
1. The number of Constitutional judges on the benches, including his SCOTUS picks.
2. The Abraham Accords. Bringing the Sunni Arabs into working and recognizing Israel, averts numerous landmines of conflict that is the ME. It also puts Iran on notice that an entire coalition of nations would stand against them. When the Saudis and Egyptians join, all the lesser kingdoms will want to be part of that history.
3. The end of conflict between Kosovo and Serbia. Ending the ethnic cleansing and futile fighting that literally destroyed both countries, Trumps initiative for economic stability for both nations and cooperation of economies has led to peace.
Trump will go down in history as one of the giants of the Republic.
“Saudi Arabia is going to be next.”
That would be gigantic.
It seems that in recent months, the Saudis have taken deliberate steps in that direction, but in the last couple of weeks, it seemed they were signaling that they would not do it before the election.
There are also Oman and Kuwait out there getting ready among the GCC countries, as well as a few other possibilities, like Morocco, Djibouti, the Comorros Islands, Chad, and Algeria.
The peace price named after the man that created dynamite, the genesis of explosives responsible for killing millions in war; verses a man that designs and built golf courses.
Hell, change the constitution, let this man be President for life!
Beau, a lot of merit to your thoughts as well. Their has been the thought their is one other that escapes me that would go before them, but they would be at the end of the process if you will.

Don't see how this can be. John Kerry assured us it wasn't possible until the palestinians had a state, and agreed to an expansion of relations with their Arab allies. Of course not it's their Iranian allies. Iran, they had close relations with Israel under the Shah, might change their tune post Mullahs. Of course a President Biden will help Iran, probably put Hunter in charge for a cut of aid to Iran.
If the Saudis are ready, there's no reason to wait from their perspective. They don't want another pro Iran President.
That Grand Deal, that historic realignment in the region, has been strongly in the works since President Trump's early trip to Saudi Arabia - where the Saudis mustered 60 (muslim) nations to hear the President announce that it was time to cut financial and ideological support to islamist terrorists.
That “theology” has been there for 1400 years.
Joe will try to reverse all the progress if he got the chance. I wish the entire debate last night was on foreign policy, but that would have not been good for Joe.
Good post.
This President just can’t seem to get anything done
:)
LOL.

= = = =
Agree....Joe will throw it all away.
It was supposed to have been, orignally, wasn’t it?
I thought the commission changed it, after the Humper emails/hard drive contents became public.
Of course they do - it gives them an issue to pretend to try to solve indefinitely. Jared Kushner made the observation that both sides were getting what they wanted in earlier deals (ie no deal)
