San Francisco supervisors to vote on ‘CAREN Act’ to discourage racially biased 911 calls

Fed up with white people calling 911 about people of color selling water bottles, barbecuing or otherwise going about their lives, San Francisco supervisors are set to approve new hate-crime legislation giving the targets of those calls the right to sue the caller. The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote Tuesday on the Caution Against Racial and Exploitative Non-Emergencies Act, also known as the CAREN proposal in a nod to the widespread meme “Karen,” used to describe a specific type of middle-aged white woman who exhibits behavior that stems from privilege, such as using the police to target people of color.

I know the case and yeah, based on the video, the caller was full of crap.

OTOH I think a law to correct this very minor problem is BIG TIME overkill. But the libidiots in Cali would rather appear to be doing something good than actually DO something good.

Some time ago, my girlfriend was home alone when a black woman knocked on the door and began an excited monologue about some racial harmony group she belonged to, suggesting that my girlfriend give her money and/or let her in the house to further discuss things. She had no ID badge and carried no brochures. When I pulled into the driveway, the woman ran off.

Could we be charged with a hate crime for reporting that woman, since she technically did nothing illegal? (Actually, it might be illegal in my area for solicitors not to have an ID badge, but I'm not sure.)

Is there a statutory crime for intentionally driving down property values? If so, this guy violated it in spades. But I suggest the name "Yolanda' for black women who cry "racism' when social normals are expected from them but they they believe racist white people are "keeping them down' when it actually their behavior that 'keeping them down"
