If Trump brings pharmaceuticals back to PR there will be jobs and prosperity for the entire island.

Adding one more star to the flag will screw up the design.

Hillary claimed 72% of the Puerto Rican vote in Florida in 2016.
There's a couple of recent polls that say a slight MAJORITY of Latinos in Miami Dade SUPPORT Pres Trump.

Actually, Congress and the Senate do have the power to make a territory a state, by a majority vote. The dems want to do so as they assume PR will elect two new Senators, both dems. They shouldn’t assume this.

I must confess I’m surprised to learn that Puerto Rico has a Republican governor.

Not if Puerto Rico keeps voting against statehood.
The US Senate does NOT have the power to force any territory that votes against statehood to become a state. Its entirely up to the people of Puerto Rico. Read up on how Texas became a state.

So, the Dems just lost the “extra” Senators from Puerto Rico. The republican Governor just said, in effect - we would rather produce Pharmaceuticals again, which the Dems took away from us by removing our tax deal, to send it all to their buddies in the CCP, than become a poverty stricken socialist island. Who would’ve thunk it?

WOW.

Not sure how much that will have an effect, but wow.

I had step family live in PR. They were VERY careful to hide their political leanings.

Carmen Yulín Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, hates Trump. The PR gov was appointed, not elected. Whose endorsement is more effective?

Alright! PR had a good GOP governor about 15 years ago - the first one in ages - who did great things for PR before he was defeated by the SEIU. I was in PR when that election was happening, and when I was talking to the hotel people, they all wanted the GOP governor to win. But they said that the leftist municipal union had all the power.

I don’t know anything about the current governor, Wanda Vazquez, but I’m gonna find out more...and in any case, I hope she has a good bodyguard, because the SEIU doesn’t take rejection lightly.
