An NFL official told the teams not to worry over the leagues crashing TV ratings, and said that the election and COVID are the reasons for lower viewership.
Sports Business Journal recently reported that NFL media operations man, Brian Rolapp, sent a memo to all the teams to allay their fears over the consistently bad ratings. Rolapp reasoned that both presidential politics and coronavirus hysteria was naturally diverting the attention of fans and resulting in fewer viewers.
The 2020 presidential election and other national news events are driving substantial consumption of cable news, taking meaningful share of audience from all other programming, reporter John Ourand claimed that Rolapp told the teams. Historically, NFL viewership has declined in each of the past six presidential elections.

I would really like to care about this. Alright, who am I kidding. I don’t care and I don’t even want to care. I can not even name a single player in the league, and don’t even know what cities have teams anymore or some of the team names. NFLNBANooseCarNHLMBA, these things don’t even exist to me anymore.
Sure thing dope. Just keep telling yourself and the brain dead thugs in your league of commies and criminals this stuff. Bye bye!
But, noooo ...

LOL! What a whopper!
About 5 yrs ago I spent $2,500 on a sweet new TV. Then I realized there was nothing I really care to watch...
So, there I was, trying to ease back into watching the NFL again, and on a Monday night, no less. Green Bay vs Atlanta is on, and it’s almost halftime. A Packers defender had just done his job (tackled someone), hammed it up for the camera that was on him, and then he unfurled something from under his shirt that had something on it about heaven and Brianna Taylor. Click. Off went the TV, done for the night. I wonder if the companies that had paid dearly for halftime, and later, commercials realize that I didn’t get to see their commercials due to that non-football move.
Good thing the NFL doesn’t hire ‘em for brains...
I agree baseball has been pretty good about not inflicting politics on us since they recognized “Black Lives Matter” on Opening Day, and I’m glad to see college football has so far avoided any major demonstrations of leftist BS.
The emperor has no clothes!!
In other sporing news, MLB wants $400 for the cheap seats at the World Series, you have to buy 4 of them.
Baghdad Bob is showing up in many leftist media these days.
Maybe the players are being told that their money is coming from TV contracts and China.
No longer do we see even fundamental knowledge of Economics 101, supply and demand. Perhaps the football players were instead taught in college to blame the rotten USA.
Once former TV watchers replace that time with doing other things, they will not come back. After I broke the tv watching habit, I did not come back. I not have time, too many other fun things to do.
They’re working on a bail out from the feds.
You can’t be that stupid.
