I dont know if he was really trying to recite the pledge officially, or was just referring to some of the statements in it, but this was funny.
Only eight more days for the DNC-handlers to pull Biden from the debate.
What last-minute excuse can they concoct ?
He totally forgot that the pledge was to the “flag” of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands. A 3 year old can say the pledge without any mistakes.
For real — got that, punk?!
And there are still schmucks out there who will crawl over broken glass to vote for this doddering old fool. They’re so afraid of losing a snivel right or a gibmedat that they’ll let this nursing home cadaver fly the Republic into a black hole. (I think that might have been a Star Wars reference, I dunno.)
The guy is completely braindead.
He did that on purpose so he didn’t have to say “God”
I admit my first thought was Babylon Bee, but Biden is almost beyond satire.
My gut feeling says this is real, but stuff like this is not that difficult to fake when somebody is wearing a mask.
Can anybody point me to a recording of his entire talk that surrounded this pledge?
He DID include saying , under God, which is more than what the 20 DNC Convention did.
Mrs Biden (sorry Jill you have an EdD) is communists ttinbb FB elder abuse
“one nation . . . under . . . under . . . the thing, you know. . . .”
This is the onion, right? Is he that retarded already?
I’m not surprised that Joe reversed the “indivisible” and “under God” lines. He was born in 1942 and probably learned the Pledge of Allegiance in school before the “under God” line was added. Another example of his deteriorating mental state - dementia often makes its sufferers latch onto earlier and earlier memories (which apparently fade last).
There have been changes - from Wiki:
1892
(first version)[1]
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
1892 to 1923
(early revision by Bellamy)[2]
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
1923 to 1924[3]
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
1924 to 1954[3]
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
1954
(current version, per 4 U.S.C. §4)[4]
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
With a mind like Joes, no amount of debate prep will mean a lick cause he can’t remember what he said at the beginning of the sentence by the time he gets to the end. There is nothing they can do to help the situation.
He knew the thing.
Did either of the people in the audience notice?
