Nebraska Bar Owner Charged for Fatally Shooting BLM Attacker Commits Suicide

A white bar-owner in Nebraska committed suicide months after he fatally shot a black rioter who vandalized his business and attacked him.

Though prosecutors originally deemed the shooting was in self-defense after reviewing video and witness testimony, the position was reversed after pressure.

“Mr. [Jake] Gardner, as we know now, has said I did what I did to defend myself and we find that we can’t disprove that from the evidence that we have,” Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said in June.

According to Kleine, James Scurlock, the victim, jumped on Gardner’s back and started to choke him after Gardner fired two warning shots in front of his business during the height of violent George Floyd protests in May.

“Words are exchanged and Gardner ends up on his back in the middle of the street when the shots are fired, including the one that hit Scurlock in the neck and killed him,” the New York Post reported at the time.

Then things changed earlier this month.

Kleine asked the grand jury to take a look at the case after his decision was criticized, saying he wanted people to have faith in the justice system. Critics had said that Scurlock was just trying to stop Gardner from hurting anyone. (NY Post)

Gardner was then indicted on several counts: “manslaughter, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, attempted first-degree assault and terroristic threats,” KETV reports.

On Sunday, he was found dead outside a medical clinic near Portland, Oregon, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

My father had a friend who shot some burgler dead in the act of breaking into his home. Said it was the worst thing he ever did. Even though he was clearly in the right, he never got over it.

Correct! They are attacking on all fronts and sides. It can't be defended. You defend here, they attack there. We must stay on the attack. And never forget the Law is on our side. We have examples to prove this: The Lawyer husband and wife team in St. Louis, the kid in Wisconsin, The poor soul in Omaha, An individual whose only crime was defending his life from a criminal trying to take. For this, the Government decreed that he must die. And to add insult to injury they appointed a Cadre of BLM goons to act under the cover of law to carry it out. A bullet to the back of the head would have been more merciful, and honorable. But these individuals [the ones who appointed the goons, not the goons themselves] have no honor, no core principles, bad character, and are of small caliber. They are the lowest of the low. They are the ones who actually murdered the guy. The goons were only the instrument used. No word or phrase in ant known or unknown language id derogatory, obscene , vile, profane, demeaning, enough to describe them. Even more obscene and vile was the fact that they enjoyed due in part to this guy sacrifices while serving an unthankful and unappreciative Nation and suffering brain damage. This was how he was thanked.

From what I read, this individual Did good things for his community and Nation. From what I read, if he could not do good, he could not do bad or evil. The same cannot be said for those who murdered him, including the louse that cancelled the lease on his bar. If any of those involved in his murder had one atom of decency in their bodies they would commit Seppuku by nightfall.

And never forget the Law is on our side.

The "law" does not matter to the regressives, and it will not save this country from the current attacks from these knuckle-draggers. The other side is giving us no choice but to use force to defeat them.

The grand jury determines if there is reasonable grounds to believe that a crime might have been committed

On the grand juries I've been on (NYS), the criterion was not so loosey-goosey, and I doubt it is anywhere else. It's whether there is reasonable grounds to believe the defendant committed the crime named in the proposed indictment.

I find no guilt in this man.

The grand jury was brought due to political pressure. (I wonder what the racial mix of the grand jury was.)

Secondly, the town was on the verge of exploding if the GJ brought back the “wrong” ruling.

This was solely a political persecution.

Its time we start exploding. Most of ANIFA are women. Find were the buses drop them off and wait with weapons drawn.

This doesnt sound right. He was killed just outside of Portland, apparently staying his uncle?

According to a report from Omaha-World Herald, “Gardner shot himself after authorities in Hillsboro, Oregon, received a call of a suicidal party, said two law enforcement sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. The death happened this weekend, though Hillsboro police would not confirm the death or the time it happened.”

Why would cops want to be anonomous for a suicide?

That is what Cities have Police Departments for. Police Officers that carry live ammunition in their pistols to put down the mob should they attempt to make the town explode. And Fire Departments to put out the fires the mob starts. Instead they sacrifice a poor soul with a damaged brain received while protecting vermin [that does not adequately describe them] such as they.

Your language is more precise but we’re saying the same thing. The final determination of guilt or innocence is left to the petit jury at trial. The grand jury determines if there is probable cause to continue the prosecution.
