The FReeper Canteen Presents....
~ Constitution Day, September 17, 1787 ~
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Canteen Mission Statement
Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.
The Federal Convention convened in the State House (Independence Hall) in Philadelphia on May 14, 1787, to revise the Articles of Confederation. Because the delegations from only two states were at first present, the members adjourned from day to day until a quorum of seven states was obtained on May 25. Through discussion and debate it became clear by mid-June that, rather than amend the existing Articles, the Convention would draft an entirely new frame of government. All through the summer, in closed sessions, the delegates debated, and redrafted the articles of the new Constitution. Among the chief points at issue were how much power to allow the central government, how many representatives in Congress to allow each state, and how these representatives should be elected--directly by the people or by the state legislators. The work of many minds, the Constitution stands as a model of cooperative statesmanship and the art of compromise.

To me it’s the best kind of day. We did all the sight seeing we needed last time we were here.

I’d hoped maybe the wind would shift and move the smoke out for a while. Guess that isn’t in the cards.
At least you’re getting to enjoy cooler temps than you dealt with at home. Maybe the cold front that’s coming through here Friday will go far enough south for you to benefit. We have fall temps ahead for the next week.

Good evening, Mr Buttinsky...I feel the same way. LOL!
And you can’t smile at someone, or let someone know that you are a friend and not a foe. I hate them and wear them only if it is mandatory for the store.

Good evening, Kathy!
That's what I do too, but it seems that just about all the stores here are requiring them right now. (I've noticed a few people here and there wearing smiley face masks, so I guess that must reflect their inner feelings a little, anyway.)
To: radu
It’s going to be in the low-to-mid 80s at home, so that will be way better than coming home to the 90s or worse. Maybe we’ll finally get a fall when the first day arrives.

YAY! That’s a nice drop.
Our temps will be in the 70s with lows in the low 60s or upper 50s.
I’ll need to fix up a snug bed for Jobu. His hair is very short and he doesn’t have so much as the beginnings of his winter coat yet.

Even the mandatory stores have folks without masks. I just hurry in and out. I am seeing a wide variety of fun ones.
I really think folks are sick of the whole mask thing. It’s amazing what a “whole” face can tell you. Covering it decreases any attempt at friendliness.

Yes, I’m glad it’s gradually cooling down so my kitties will have a chance to get their fur coats. I’m sure Jobu will love having a cozy cuddle place.

We have a friend that comes by to feed them twice a day. I paid her, because she lives a couple of miles away and I so appreciate her doing it. I talked to her yesterday, and she said they were doing well. She hadn’t seen much of Peaches and Ginger in the house, because they hide, but the food was disappearing and the litter box was being used. LOL!

BRRRRR! Can’t say we’re quite ready for those temps just yet. LOL That’s winter to us and we’d just want some autumn.
It’s getting dark earlier up there now. I’m used to seeing daylight there this time of night and was shocked to see it dark at 9:00.

Yes, I’m sure Jobu will appreciate a snuggy bed. He likes the soft bed I fixed up already. Much more comfortable than sleeping on the cement porch.
Your kitties will surely enjoy some cooler temps. Poor babies have roasted long enough.

~~shiver~~ That is sort of the way it is here. Highs in the 60s or 70s during the day, but the low 40s and 30s at night. A LOT cooler than my body is used to. LOL!
Are you ready for that first snow?

One reason I could never live up north. Winter comes to soon and too fast. A body needs time to acclimate. LOL

It felt pretty nice out there yesterday. I got to try out a new leash my sister got me. Here are the pics from yesterday.
This pic was taken when Giz was taking a moment but he was happy for the visit today.
