SIOUX CITY, Iowa After nearly one hundred years in business, Sue Bee Honey is changing its longtime logo.
The cooperative of beekeepers from across the nation is painting over the wall of its headquarters on Lewis Boulevard where an image of a Native American girl with a feather in her hair and wings has been featured for years.
The president of the Sioux Honey Association says the change has been in the works and isn't linked to recent concerns by some companies about racial insensitivity.
"We have moved away from that logo with any of our labels and consumer promotions probably 4 or 5 years ago," said President Mark Mammen. "And what we really wanted over the last few years, our new focus or our renewed focus I should say has been on our two main brands and the fact that we are a cooperative."
It's hoped the new signage will be done by the end of the year as the cooperative gets ready to celebrates its 100th anniversary next year.

Well, he can’t give something and then take it back.
He would be an Ind....
A person who is dissatisfied with their choice of a gift and.....
Do like I do in stores every time that I learned from here. When seeing things like Land O Lakes Butter I say “ just like it’s always been. They got rid of the Indian and kept the land.”
I’m sure we can come up with something just as good for this.
+1
Yeah that feather behind her head has the Cherokee nation all kinds of upset. -sarc
Lets just erase the entire history of native Americans. That should satisfy the woke mob.
Honey is the one food that never spoils.
Soon only Indians that will matter will be of the dot variety. Liberal wankers are removing all vestiges of American Indian society from the US.
This is how you end up with generic food labeling. .,,. White cans with black ink. ... Corn. Beans. Beer. ....... Potted Meat. ....... Socialism ain’t creative.
Yes and it helps with any allergies. A teaspoon in the morning helps with your allergy due to tree pollen in your local area.
Buy locally produced honey.
So are the brothers.
Another one bites the dust.....
If the democrats or other leftists object to something the rest of us can’t have it.
That’s diversity and inclusion, libtard style.
We do. From a beekeeper my hubby knows. It’s awesome.
It's bee vomit.
.
Took me back - “Do be a Do Bee, don’t be a Don’t Bee”
Before “Doobie” had taken on it’s own special meaning...
When someone takes them to court and "sue"s them...
I am a beekeeper and I assure you that honey is anti-bacterial only if it has not been heated much over 120 degrees as that will alter its chemical composition. SueBee pasteurizes its honey so that it will not crystallize during its shelf life. This pasteurization destroys many of the beneficial properties of the honey. Thats why it is best to buy raw (unprocessed) honey.
Also, SueBee honey is NOT local honey. They buy honey from beekeepers from a wide area and dump it all mixed together in huge vats. Thus you are not getting the wonderful individual tastes that result from each of the different honey sources.
