You get it. That was really well said.
just do it. Declare pandemic over, remove all restrictions
I'm not even a big gambler but the place is amazing. I can spend hours just wandering through some of the big casinos, sampling the food and drink without even touching a slot machine or a game table. What always impressed me was how quickly the place changed. Even a year later, there is something new to check out, whether it be a new massive casino, new shows or new restaurants.
It's not for everybody though. They don't call it Sin City for nothing.
What happened in VA when it went blue is the future of America should the dems take power.
FWIW, I have found ONE instance where I would actually vote dem.

Vegas is fine in small doses, and three days is about my limit, too. After that, it just feels like you wear a grime and the only cleanser is to leave.
I’ve been to LV once and that was enough.
The only fun I had there...I looked up a local gun shop that allowed you to rent an automatic weapon (an actual Commie-killing, crowd-spraying ASSAULT WEAPON)...and shoot a brief burst at a tightly-managed inside range. I want to say...25, maybe 30 rounds. Over in just a few seconds.
Other than that...they can keep Las Vegas.
IT was Arlington, Texas on the other side of the Trinity River.
And NO, it is not North Texas, Texas (See: Super Bowl XLV)
The author appears to be waking up to the rising tyranny that follows electing demon rat officials.
bump
I went to University there vegas is the arm pit of america. The very opposite of what you described when you actually live there year round. More like it everything about or bad about America just times 10. Most cities make something vegas just takes. Enjoy the show and for added bonus here have some southern Californians. Vegas is the very definition of shithole.
I like vapid glitz.
THE legacy of the obamaroid fraud.
The greatest city on Earth? Really, have you forgotten Rome, Paris, Istanbul and Jerusalem. I lived there in the seventies when it was a cow town with a few casinos. It was great, no taxes, no car insurance, you could by a gun in a gas station, no traffic, no speed limits. Now its just like L.A. Its lost its soul. I remember having to put on a sport coat to eat on the strip. You could walk around downtown 24/7 and feel safe because the the Metro Police had their own cemetery in the desert. I have family there, Im sorry its taken the brunt of the Covid economic depression, but the greatest city on Earth? I dont think so.
The free market disagrees with you — but even if your position is correct — you also fail to discern that this is about the ideals that are important to America as an experiment, not the city.
If you are comfortable letting that get decimated, so be it.

Bars in Texas remain closed but if they put in a kitchen, they become restaurants and can reopen and we have a Republican governor.
= = =
Its ABSURD!!!
Historic Greene Hall finally reopened. I think theyre serving some sort of snack plates, to get around this ABSURD rule made by Gov Grabbit.
Las Vegas is a fake city
Oh really? I guess there are 2 and a half million fake Americans that live here too.
Ive lived in a number of cities, Las Vegas is as real a city as any of them, both good and bad. Its a very pro-second amendment city compared to others Ive lived in...newer and cleaner than any Ive lived in once you get away from the relatively small Strip corridor. Out in the burbs about 16 miles from the Strip, it could be Tucson or Scottsdale or any city in the desert, theres very little of what you think of as Vegas in most of Las Vegas. You can buy liquor in grocery stores and they have video poker in some brew pubs or the local Buffalo Wild Wings, but thats about it.
About the only thing that stands out is that we have the best roads in the universe - no bad weather and Im sure too much Harry Reid payola money for highway construction. Traffic cones for construction are our state flower. But the roads are great and Its 65 degrees in the winter. Other than that, its a city - real - l8ke any other, and a police force that is supported and isnt expected to take the crap they dish out in other western cities.
We are real, normal, and more conservative than a lot of other western cities...not saying a lot there but there is more level-headedness than youll find in LA or Denver. Its real and its not necessary for you to like the image of the major industry in town...to each his own.
...........with all due respect guys, I have a very nice bar open and operating 1 1/2 mile from my house (in Central Texas). I like to go there around 9pm sometimes.
Yes, it does have a restaurant component.
All that said, I agree that a lot of us are dismayed that Abbott is going along with even “some” of this nonsense. But, like so many other politicians, John Cornyn comes to mind, who the hell else can we vote for? A Democrat?
True, all of that.
I have elderly relatives that moved to Vegas from SoCal and rave about it - especially all the senior citizens deals they’re able to get at the casinos and restaurants - off the strip, of course.
We visit several times a year and it is clean, beautiful and the roads are great - we hike in the desert when the weather permits, stay indoors during the day when it doesn’t. Has all the amenities of SoCal without the smog.
