Las Vegas is a fake city
The cigarette smoke in the hotels above the casinos was enough for me to want to bail after a day.
There’s a good reason I’ve not been to Vegas in over 40 years.
Many enemies of the people in government now
I always thought it was Bugsy Seigel that turned Vegas into a destination.
Las Vegas is a resort destination that people through the free market have chosen to spend trillions of dollars over the years. It is the absolute embodiment of liberty.
So the steady beat of allegedly liberty loving people on something called the free republic is to denigrate and condemn instead of defend those people who have made a good living in a free market decimated by the tyranny of the left.
Why do many not see the true meaning of the article — that America ideals are at stake which is the thesis is the author that he even says forefront of the piece and instead have the need to tell us why they don’t want to go to Vegas. Whether Vegas, vaccines, lockdowns or whatever the point is NOT your opinion on the subject, it’s the destruction of American ideals and idealism which should unify us
No wonder we get our ass kicked so often. The democrats can put aside their personal difference for the political philosophy they agree on. We are too busy sniping at each other and failing to discern the greater issue

While in Vegas I asked folks there what the wildest thing that happens there each year.
All said Rodeo by far.
Great time had by folks coming off their ranch’s to enjoy.

The hallmark of leftism is the appeal to the narcissist. Your important. Your feelings are important. They are not. I doesn’t matter if I like vegas or not. What does matter is the belief that people should be allowed to try and succeed or fail without the full weight of the government restricting them
I happen to like vegas. But even if I didn’t I would be as full throated in my defense of that market and place for people to be free to succeed or fail but to have the freedom to try. The market has spoken and decided that place was a smashing success prior to Covid. The government killed it
My favorite story when I went to MBA school was the brothel that the owner failed to pay taxes. So government confiscated the business. Decided to try to run it. Six months later it closed for lack of business. Think about that
The government ran into the ground an enterprise where the offering was sex and booze. If the government cannot run this business how they hell can it be trusted to regulate any business.
But again the lesson here is bit about vegas. The author is sounding the warning on the existential threat to American style freedom

i don’t really gamble, drink, smoke, or go to shows but I loved going to Las Vegas.
This is a shame. But whats going on in NYC, and SanFran is a shame too.

As I said I have no desire to visit Las Vegas. That doesn’t mean I do care that the city is being besieged by Democrat Visigoths. We are one nation and the misfortune of one state has an impact on us all.
Las Vegas has the unfortunate position of being a one industry town, tourism. I don’t imagine Reno is any better.
I have no hatred for Las Vegas (Sin City) and I agree that the entire Lock Down of the economy for the non-pandemic is pure foolishness.
Thus it seems the dumb, clueless, incompetent liberal Nevada voters with Trump Derangement Syndrome elected to public many of their own to destroy their state and their own jobs.
The good news? It’s ending. And we will come thundering back provided we unify as Americans and love liberty and stop believing each of our individual opinions is more important than the concept of freedom.
Vegas is a great city to drive through.Early evening is the best time since you’ve got the desert to cross before you get to Los Angeles.
Well, come to think of it, Vegas isn’t much to account for.
It is said that Nevada has more ghost towns than inhabited ones. Maybe Las Vegas will become a ghost town.
If the people want their city to function, then they should deal with their chosen leaders.
