Warning: What's Happening in Las Vegas Will Destroy America

Oh, boy, do I have a story for you. Who doesn't love Las Vegas? It's America's favorite city. It may be the world's favorite city. It's my adopted hometown for 20 years now.

Until recently, I never thought anything, or anyone, could ever destroy Las Vegas. I was wrong. Everyone needs to hear about what's happening here. Las Vegas and the state of Nevada are in deep trouble. Trust me, you're next -- if you put Joe Biden and Democrats in charge of America.

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas. We are the canary in the coal mine. What happens in Vegas is coming to your city and state. What happens in Vegas is a warning for the entire USA.

Here are a few Vegas stories you won't see in television ads.

First, I have to tell you about Democratic Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak. The D isn't just for Democrat. It stands for DUMB, as in clueless, ignorant, blind, deaf and very dumb.

We've somehow won the dreaded reverse lottery. The odds of having a governor this incompetent, cowardly and insane with Trump Derangement Syndrome all at once is somewhere between 1 in a million and 1 in a billion.

Our clueless or suicidal (take your pick) governor made the decision to shut down the Nevada economy back in March, thereby killing the entertainment capital of the world. Six months later, while casinos are open, bars are still closed, and churches are limited to 50 congregants.

This madman is killing both the saints and the sinners. The bar owners and church leaders should get together and sue. They could title the lawsuit "The Catholics and Convicts Vs. the Governor of Nevada."

But wait, it gets much worse. Because all events are still limited to 50 attendees or less, there are no conventions, conferences or concerts in Vegas. We are the entertainment and convention center of America -- except without the entertainment or conventions.

Although pools are open, our guests have to wear masks while sitting by the pool, in direct sun, with temperatures around 110 degrees most of the summer. How refreshing! We're now the mask-at-the-pool capital of America.

While you have to wear a mask while sitting by the pool, even though you're outdoors and chairs are six feet apart, only steps away, hundreds of guests are in the pool without masks, kissing, dancing, gyrating and drinking in a tangled mass of human anatomy. Obviously, COVID-19 only attacks people lying in a lounge chair, not dancing in the pool inches from one another.

My fiance and I love Vegas' world-class restaurants. We sit only feet from the bar. But no one can sit at the bar. Live music is banned. Obviously, while COVID-19 won't attack you at your table next to the bar, it will kill you instantly if you sit at the bar or listen to live music.

Mail-in voting is encouraged for everyone in Nevada. But we all stand next to hundreds of other Nevadans at Costco, Walmart, supermarkets, banks and CVS. No problem. COVID-19 clearly only kills voters, not shoppers.

Our governor demanded President Trump cancel his political rally for this weekend but never said a word as thousands of often violent Black Lives Matter protestors caused mayhem on the Vegas strip 20 nights in a row. COVID-19 must only be spread by Republicans.

These are just a few of the mandates set forth by the dumbest governor in America. Because of all these absurd, idiotic, confusing rules made up by liberal bureaucrats with at least one chromosome missing, Vegas just lost the National Finals Rodeo to Dallas, Texas, for the first time in over 30 years. Dallas will allow 20,000 spectators. Our Nevada governor would only allow 50 spectators in Las Vegas.

That's thousands of jobs lost, thousands of small businesses damaged, hundreds of millions in revenue lost. And, of course, there's no tax revenue either. How will our socialist governor fund his massive welfare programs and failing public schools?

But the NFR is just one event. We've lost all of them. Every convention is canceled. There is no tax revenue to pay for any government services, let alone our gleaming new NFL stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders. No fans are allowed to attend for the entire season. Where will the tax money to pay the mortgage come from? Oh, boy.

Did I mention that while over 200,000 Nevadans lost their jobs because of this dumb and dumber governor's decisions, many of them still (six months later) can't get unemployment checks? The system is horribly broken. The governor can't find any way to fix it, six months later. But his unemployment department did manage to close for the Labor Day holiday -- while tens of thousands of Nevadans are starving.

I was wrong. It's easy to destroy Las Vegas, formerly the greatest city on Earth. Just put one dumb, clueless, incompetent liberal with Trump Derangement Syndrome in charge.

If you like what has happened to Vegas, put Joe Biden in the White House. Then watch as what's happening in Vegas destroys the entire USA.

Speaking for myself, Las Vegas was always my favorite place to go on vacation. In fact, whenever I go to Hawaii, I will always stop there for a couple of days on the return trip because going from Hawaii directly back to the East Coast was brutal (time zones).

I'm not even a big gambler but the place is amazing. I can spend hours just wandering through some of the big casinos, sampling the food and drink without even touching a slot machine or a game table. What always impressed me was how quickly the place changed. Even a year later, there is something new to check out, whether it be a new massive casino, new shows or new restaurants.

It's not for everybody though. They don't call it Sin City for nothing.

but after three days in Las Vegas I’m like “get me out of here!”

Vegas is fine in small doses, and three days is about my limit, too. After that, it just feels like you wear a grime and the only cleanser is to leave.

I’ve been to LV once and that was enough.

The only fun I had there...I looked up a local gun shop that allowed you to rent an automatic weapon (an actual Commie-killing, crowd-spraying ASSAULT WEAPON)...and shoot a brief burst at a tightly-managed inside range. I want to say...25, maybe 30 rounds. Over in just a few seconds.

Other than that...they can keep Las Vegas.

Dallas did NOT get the NFR!!!

IT was Arlington, Texas on the other side of the Trinity River.

And NO, it is not North Texas, Texas (See: Super Bowl XLV)

I went to University there vegas is the arm pit of america. The very opposite of what you described when you actually live there year round. More like it everything about or bad about America just times 10. Most cities make something vegas just takes. Enjoy the show and for added bonus here have some southern Californians. Vegas is the very definition of shithole.

The greatest city on Earth? Really, have you forgotten Rome, Paris, Istanbul and Jerusalem. I lived there in the seventies when it was a cow town with a few casinos. It was great, no taxes, no car insurance, you could by a gun in a gas station, no traffic, no speed limits. Now it’s just like L.A. It’s lost it’s soul. I remember having to put on a sport coat to eat on the strip. You could walk around downtown 24/7 and feel safe because the the Metro Police had their own cemetery in the desert. I have family there, I’m sorry it’s taken the brunt of the Covid economic depression, but the greatest city on Earth? I don’t think so.

The free market disagrees with you — but even if your position is correct — you also fail to discern that this is about the ideals that are important to America as an experiment, not the city.

If you are comfortable letting that get decimated, so be it.

He is the John Kasich kind. I'm still amazed when the President came to Ohio he had Covin-19 then after he left he was magically cured. Dewine thinks the President is going to lose Ohio and is running away from him. When Dewine was in the Senate he always marching in lock step with McCain. Dewine claims to be Pro Life but every doctor he wants to put in as Ohio's Health Directer seems to have ties to Planed Parenthood. Dewine is an establishment Republican and if he has to keep Ohio locked down to throw the state to Biden then that's what he'll do so we can go back to business as usual.

Bars in Texas remain closed but if they put in a kitchen, they become restaurants and can reopen and we have a Republican governor.

= = =

It’s ABSURD!!!

Historic Greene Hall finally reopened. I think they’re serving some sort of snack plates, to get around this ABSURD rule made by Gov Grabbit.

“ Las Vegas is a fake city”

Oh really? I guess there are 2 and a half million fake Americans that live here too.

I’ve lived in a number of cities, Las Vegas is as real a city as any of them, both good and bad. It’s a very pro-second amendment city compared to others I’ve lived in...newer and cleaner than any I’ve lived in once you get away from the relatively small Strip corridor. Out in the “burbs” about 16 miles from the Strip, it could be Tucson or Scottsdale or any city in the desert, there’s very little of what you think of as Vegas in most of Las Vegas. You can buy liquor in grocery stores and they have video poker in some brew pubs or the local Buffalo Wild Wings, but that’s about it.

About the only thing that stands out is that we have the best roads in the universe - no bad weather and I’m sure too much Harry Reid payola money for highway construction. Traffic cones for construction are our state flower. But the roads are great and It’s 65 degrees in the winter. Other than that, it’s a city - real - l8ke any other, and a police force that is supported and isn’t expected to take the crap they dish out in other western cities.

We are real, normal, and more conservative than a lot of other western cities...not saying a lot there but there is more level-headedness than you’ll find in LA or Denver. It’s real and it’s not necessary for you to like the image of the major industry in town...to each his own.

...........with all due respect guys, I have a very nice bar open and operating 1 1/2 mile from my house (in Central Texas). I like to go there around 9pm sometimes.

Yes, it does have a restaurant component.

All that said, I agree that a lot of us are dismayed that Abbott is going along with even “some” of this nonsense. But, like so many other politicians, John Cornyn comes to mind, who the hell else can we vote for? A Democrat?

True, all of that.

I have elderly relatives that moved to Vegas from SoCal and rave about it - especially all the senior citizens deals they’re able to get at the casinos and restaurants - off the strip, of course.

We visit several times a year and it is clean, beautiful and the roads are great - we hike in the desert when the weather permits, stay indoors during the day when it doesn’t. Has all the amenities of SoCal without the smog.
