Taiwan scrambles fighters to intercept Chinese jets entering airspace for second day

The latest moves come a day after multiple Chinese Su-30 and J-10 fighters entered Taiwan's "response zone".

The spokesman said Taiwan's armed forces are able to respond quickly and appropriately to such movements and called on islanders not to be alarmed.

Taiwan's Liberty Times newspaper said the country issued 24 verbal warnings over the radio for the Chinese aircraft to leave.

Taiwan has repeatedly complained that China, which has not ruled out the use of force to bring the democratic island under its control, has stepped up military threats in recent months as the world tackles the coronavirus pandemic.

Beijing routinely says such exercises are not unusual and are designed to show its determination to defend its sovereignty.

Taiwan is carrying out live fire weapons tests off its southeast and eastern coast.

China is busy annoying most of the countries that surround it. These are not insignificant countries. Russia, India, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and the US have all had just about enough of China’s crap.

And yet our deep state still treats Russia as an enemy, has NATO on its borders, and uses Putin as a straw-man excuse for every stupid Democrat political scheme. Weird.

Gotta love the Commies’ consistency. They lie about everything. Literally everything. Pushing into another nation’s response zone is “protecting our sovereignty”. So is assaulting Indian Troops and destroying their outposts. And ramming Vietnamese fishing boats. To a Commie this is “self-protection”.

A little trivia. The Taiwan strait is the first place the Sidewinder missile was used in combat. ROC Sabres shot down a communist MiG-17.

Here’s how I see it. The Dems and a huge chunk of the GOPe is completely owned by China. The entertainment, tech and universities are owned by China.

The politicians see anything that makes China unhappy as bad. Russia has massive resources but is only about 10% of China’s GPD. Russia has a massive nuclear arsenal. (We and them have about 95% of the worlds supply, roughly 50/50)

If we were on good terms with Russia, that would upset China. If we can alienate Russia and cause them to ally with China, that’s great for our “China inc” political and financial class.

So we get treated to policies and neocon scams that push Russia towards China. China gets resources and muscle in return. The DOD and defense contractors get rich.

Then Trump came in and upset the applecart.

And now you see who our “China inc” congress is so hot to stoke a new cold war with Russia.

De-couple.

Trump was talking about de-coupling our economies just yesterday, I think it was.

China asserts sovereignty over Taiwan. The U.S. is ambiguous. After Nixon “opened up” to China, the U.S. closed its embassy and does not have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan. Effectively, what are diplomatic relations with Taiwan are fulfilled by a private foundation “sponsored” by the State Department.

Under the 1972 Defense of Taiwan Act, the U.S. military is obliged to defend Taiwan if the president determines that China has attacked Taiwan.

Does anyone not think that if Biden/Harris is elected that red China will not invade Taiwan?

The way China’s economy is heading, they probably have no choice But to attack Taiwan.

Needs to happen. We are paying for the red Chinese build up. And I guarantee they are pushing and paying for BLM and antifa directly and indirectly (such as bought professors leading students to communism).

China's back is against the wall and their only option is to push forward with their agenda for world domination.

Unfortunately, this will result in war...and they (Xi and the CCP) accept this.

In fact, given what they are doing in the South China Sea, in the Himalayas, and in Taiwan, it is apparent that China's leadership is trying to force the issue.

And why not now. The developed countries in the world are in a state of lockdown due to the virus "they" released and the United States is more divided than it has been since the 1860's.

From China's POV, the iron is hot.

...the U.S. closed its embassy and does not have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

At the risk of sounding presumptious, deep down, I think this may actually change in a Trump Second Term. All the more reasons why so many cockroaches are coming out of the baseboards.

Taiwan asserts sovereignty over the mainland. It’s a two edged sword. I have only been to Taiwan once, as a USAF contractor, and have met and drank with TAF major-generals, and junior officers. I am not convinced they want to raise the temperature in Taiwan-China relations.

Taiwan is a beautiful place. Formosa means beautiful island in Portuguese. The people are wonderful and deserving of the place they have created. The thought of them falling under Mainland tyranny is sickening to me.
