There is something very wrong with some in the top ranks of America’s military
American Thinker ^ | Andrea Widburg

With Bob Woodward’s anti-Trump book about to be published, the media is focusing entirely on the easily debunked claim that Trump mishandled the Wuhan virus by “lying” to the American people. What the media is ignoring, however, is a much more serious claim, which is that former Secretary of Defense General James Mattis plotted to overthrow Trump and his administration. This fact, if true, supports my long-time fear about the damage Obama inflicted on the upper echelons of the Pentagon.

*snip*

It began to be clear last October that the Obama administration (with some help from Bill Clinton’s presidency) had seeded the Pentagon with leftist generals whose allegiance was to the Deep State, to cultural leftism, and to the infamous and profitable “military industrial complex” that Eisenhower warned about in 1961. In only five years, Obama had conducted a major Pentagon purge, firing almost 200 senior officers who held the old-fashioned belief that the military exists to protect America and should not be a social justice institution with limited firepower.

The upper-level officers who remained were hardcore Democrats. While still in the military, Admirable McRaven gave bin Laden a respectful, private burial. Once out of the military, he wrote an editorial for the New York Times, strongly suggesting a military coup against Trump. Barry McCaffrey, a Clinton White House officer, likened Trump to Mussolini because he canceled the White House’s newspaper subscriptions. And Obama’s Joint Chiefs Vice Chair, James Winnefeld, was deeply offended on behalf of ISIS terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi because Trump did the psychologically smart thing of telling al-Baghdadi’s followers that he died like a coward.

Audie Murphy need not apply.

After the BJ clintoon years we referred to the senior leadership as the dark side. It obviously continues.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Republican presidents allow that agenda-driven asshole Bob Woodward free reign in the White House. What was President Trump thinking, sitting down with him for an interview?? Woodward has one objective and one only: the destroy any and all Republicans.

NEVER, EVER trust a liberal!!!

If Trump wins, which I believe he will handily, he should then purge the top ranks of the military and get rid of any Dem loving, Obama appointed (and/or leftover Clinton supporters) top brass ASAP before they can do any further damage to the Trump Admin and to the morale of our troops. If Obama could purge the upper ranks of the military and replace them with his own ideological soulmates, so can Trump; hopefully he will act on getting rid of these potential coup plotters and saboteurs with great dispatch.

I’m hoping that Trump purges the generals in his second term. Anyone slightly PC should get retired.

Same here. I am a Trump’ster all the way. But, his incessant running of his mouth and obsession to tweet on every damn comment made regardless of importance drives me ape $h!t.

The author is deliberately misleading the reader here. This started long before Obama. The senior ranks of the U.S. military have been littered with globalist lapdogs for decades.

James Mattis didn't appear on the scene in 2009, did he?

How about Colon Bowel?

It took me a while to realize that being passed over for colonel wasn't actually a catastrophic event for me: it allowed me to get out while I was still somewhat young, it started me on a career where my knowledge and creativity could finally be used, and I never became what my more "successful" friends became. Many of the guys who were lieutenants with me made it to general rank. They became weirdly stilted, doctrinaire, and close-minded. And quite full of themselves.

While I was developing an advanced technology system that had immediate application to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, I reached out to one of my former buddies who was a Lieutenant General and asked him to get my briefing on the system out to the Combat Commanders. He told me that the Marine Corps was "like a dinosaur - hard to turn".

I told him that "dinosaurs are imprints on rocks today" but he didn't do anything to get my very promising system out to the leaders. - And before any of you begin thinking that I did it because I would have made money, you'd be wrong: my system was developed entirely in-house and the government owned everything we built, the drawings, the software, the tooling and the manufacturing - so I wasn't a slimy contractor trying to push one of his wares.

When the leaders of the Corps (primarily Jim Mattis and that idiot Commandant Amos) began going along with openly-serving gays, I cut off all ties to my Corps.

After eight years of Obama, eight years of Bush, eight years of Clinton, and four years of Bush, 28 years of senior leadership has been crafted by political operatives lacking character. No one should be surprised that these people are ‘all in’ on the swamp. Trump is disrupting their ‘business’ and they are negotiating with his opponents to preserve our endless wars.

Woodward (and the Democrats) want so much to relive the shining moment that was Watergate.
As to the Military Brass, making flag rank is a politically driven event.

Here is an instructive view

We have the same military today that France had in 1940.

Lincoln was confronted with the public statement by General Hooker that in the midst of the Civil War, the nation needed a dictator (him). Lincoln responded, “well, he’d be the first dictator who never won a battle. If he can win a battle, I will risk the dictatorship”. Interestingly, looking at the names of these seditious generals and admirals, I can’t see one that has won a war or a battle. No Pattons, Shermans, or Grants among them. Hard to garner popular support for a government overthrow by a bunch of self-important nobodies.

Sobering details of many individual (political) comments BY the “generals” that Clinton-Bush-Obama appointed and promoted.

And today, the Navy has more admirals than ships, but their ships cannot steer straight in harbors, much less steer “fast and into harms way.”

There’s an OLD saying I learned from American servicemen that works in basically any military.

“Don’t trust anyone over O-6.”

Not to validate their comments, but we haven’t been in a war to win since WWII. With that in mind, just how many successful/winning commanders are still alive?

On 11/4 there will be no reason not to reassign every seditionist Vindman type Trump has identified to South Korea. Trump had better also have a wartime AG on11/4 to highlight and prosecute the fraud and treachery of the TIP coup. Having some Podunk US attorney looking at looking at the election fraud come December wont save the Constitution. We must have a non DS AG in those 3 or 4 months after the election or this insurrection will be probably succeed.

Apparently “Mad Dog” Mattis, although I am unaware of how he earned the title. Seems he has some sexual issues, and it may be what is commonly called a “beard”.

Many years ago, a true American hero, Colonel David Hackworth began referring to them as “Perfumed Princes.” I remember the backlash and condemnation he received over the term.

Too bad since he as he was absolutely correct.
