The National Transportation Safety Board on Thursday issued four safety recommendations in its final report on the agencys investigation of the fatal June 17, 2017 collision between the destroyer USS Fitzgerald and the containership ACX Crystal.

The insufficient training of Fitzgeralds crew; Fitzgerald crew fatigue;
Crew was fatigued by required critical race theory classes they were mandated to attend. Social justice training replaced seamanship classes resulting in unqualified crew.
I believe women were in control of the deck when the collision occurred. No real punishment, either.
Who they need to punish is the fleet commander for not doing risk mitigation in sending out the Fitzgerald. The ship was not ready however mission needs ordered it out early. They could have mitigated risk by staffing up and cross-leveling with experienced crew.
But the crew and officers had all received their ‘Critical Race Theory’ certifications.
But affirmative action is more important that competence. At least to the folks in charge. There's no place for you in the navy if you would replace an inexperienced, unqualified woman with a man.
Yes, two female officers in a snit, not talking to each other. They haven’t come a long way, baby.
The fleet commander was fired.
No, it is even worse than that.
Yes, a woman was OOD (and CONN) when the collision occurred. Another woman was in CIC, and should have been also tracking ALL nearby shipping continuously, and alerting the bridge PRIOR TO even a close approach by other vessels.
that didn't happen ....because the two of them got into a “snit contest” and were not talking to each other!
Not explained: Why would the NTSB get into what should be the Navy's investigation?
Good Question!
The Navy's investigation reveals about the same data. The same embarrassing situation!
I can only conclude that the NTSB has some kind of jurisdiction, by law.
How is this possible with warning systems, unless it was intentional. They are investigating the recent fire on Navy ship in San Diego as Arson.
