Shelter in the reservoir? Thats serious.
Not to make light of a terrible situation, but Id get in the water...
Obviously some frickin idiot started the fire somehow. We’ve been dealing with a fire in the southern Sierra for the last two weeks. Now this one is huge. We’re praying for rain.probably won’t happen but it couldn’t hoyt.
That’s scary! Praying they’ll be okay!

The videos are very scary, the flames appear to be moving along at highway speed.
Can’t they send in helicopters to rescue people?
it should be noted other fires are burning in CA including two new ones down south
also very hot the next few days with afternoon winds picking up like today
the system that will cool them off tuesday will bring a Santa Ana wind event
in other words going to be a long week fire wise
Cant they send in helicopters to rescue people?
heavy smoke is an issue with that , they are downwind of the fire
yup! I hear of an elderly couple (different fire some years ago) they didn’t evac in time, had to get in a neighbors pool and put cloth over heads and use starws or some hting to be under water and be able to breathe.
Personally, Id look a little more alarmed...and be heading for the lake if theres no way outta there. Prayers for them!
Unfortunately people don’t seem to understand threats these days.....I’d been out of there pronto!
Air Drop a bunch of inflatable rafts.
