Obviously some frickin idiot started the fire somehow. We’ve been dealing with a fire in the southern Sierra for the last two weeks. Now this one is huge. We’re praying for rain.probably won’t happen but it couldn’t hoyt.

About 1,000 people trapped near Mammoth Pool Reservoir advised to jump in water if necessary

pproximately 1,000 people are trapped near Mammoth Pool Reservoir and no longer able to evacuate the area Saturday due to the Creek Fire, according to a Sierra National Forest spokesman.

And because the fire is moving toward Mammoth Pool, the national forest is advising those unable to evacuate to shelter in place and even jump in the reservoir if necessary.

Sierra National Forest spokesman Dan Tune said the fire is threatening a range of mountain resources, including structures, communities and power lines.

The videos are very scary, the flames appear to be moving along at highway speed.

it should be noted other fires are burning in CA including two new ones down south

also very hot the next few days with afternoon winds picking up like today

the system that will cool them off tuesday will bring a Santa Ana wind event

in other words going to be a long week fire wise
