4 P.M.: PEOPLE TRAPPED AT MAMMOTH POOL As many as 1,000 people near Mammoth Pool Reservoir have been cut off by the Creek Fire and are unable to evacuate the area. They are reportedly being advised to shelter in place, in the reservoir if necessary. The situation was confirmed by Sierra National Forest spokesman Dan Tune.

They just reported this fire at 36,000 acre in just 24 hours. That’s 25 acres a minute or 19 football fields, hopefully not football fields with socially important messaging in the end zones.
they don't make Solar or wind powered helicopters that can carry a person yet and funding for real helicopters was spent on P.E.R.S. [/sarc]

We had firefighters deploy those blankets ehr. they were overtaken by the storm king fire in colorado. They are silver and supposedly reflect the heat. They found them all dead like baked potatoes wrapped in tinfoil. stated to get to the water if at all possible

Easily believable, if that report of the fire burning around the entire 5 mile long lake in 45 minutes is correct.
