Perhaps the earpieces are there to remind him he’s in Kenosha, not Kentucky ... or perhaps something even more basic like: Right foot — left foot — right foot now stop, turn to the crowd and smile, turn back, now here we go, right foot — left foot ......
Just started watching this and that was my first reaction too.

For those who don’t see it, it is a piece that fits completely in the ear, no cord, nothing behind the ear. They are flesh colored and perfectly blended to his skin tone, maybe using makeup. They’re in both ears. Try looking at the video at 16:49 and for a little bit before and after that.
Note that he is easily quoting lots of figures and statistics which he clearly has not been able to do in ad-lib situations. Likewise, note that there are no close-up camera shots.
The live feed from both fox and NBC on YouTube has a low audio. Is Biden whispering or is the audio way low?

Gawd. He’s “whispering”. It’s a tactic and makes me nauseous. I’m suprised he doesn’t have the interpreter for the deaf they’re all using now to pander and appear “inclusive”.

I had an aunt who steadily spoke more softly as she grew older. It got so you needed a hearing aid just to hear her. Going out for a bite to eat was horrible.
Seems like he’s exhausted from back to back days of being out of memory care.
I agree with you. If Biden has ear pieces with someone speaking to him, he doesn’t have the capacity to hear them and speak smoothly like TV commentators can. They are very experienced with them. More likely he has hearing aids, if he has anything
PDJT should offer Biden the little bell to ring (from the nursing home patient in Breaking Bad....)
