In the early hours of Aug. 10, caravans from across the city ransacked high-end stores in and around downtown after rumors circulated on social media that Chicago police had shot and killed a 15-year-old Black boy on the South Side. Police did shoot 20-year-old Latrell Allen, who is Black, the day before. Police allege Allen fired gunshots at them, but officers were not equipped with body-worn cameras, and no other footage of the incident has been made available. Allen is expected to recover.
Images of people walking in and out of department stores with their hands full of products transfixed a confused nation. Mayor Lori Lightfoot called the looting “an assault” on Chicago, while the Rev. Jesse Jackson said it was “humiliating” and “morally wrong.”
But young Black activists pushed back. “When protesters attack high-end retail stores that are owned by the wealthy and service the wealthy, that is not ‘our’ city and has never been meant for us,” Black Lives Matter Chicago said in a statement after the looting. “These protests can only end when the safety and wellbeing of our communities is finally prioritized.” So which is it? Once the looting stopped, the nation’s attention quickly moved on. But the problems endemic to Chicago, the problems that provided the tinder for this particular blaze, remain. And they deserve to be addressed.
Prioritizing Black communities has always been a problem for Chicago. Since arriving en masse during the Great Migration more than a century ago, Black Chicagoans have been violently relegated to the margins, exploited at every turn and expected to do more with less. Racism in Chicago even shocked Martin Luther King Jr., who said he had “never seen — even in Mississippi and Alabama — mobs as hostile and as hate-filled” as the ones he saw here.

OK, I’ll reply to my own post.
The Democrats have controlled the city of Chicago for the last 89 years without interruption. How can they possibly convince any black resident of Chicago that they are the party that should be trusted to solve (or even just improve) the situation of blacks in that city?
Insanity is well defined as the behavior of someone that never changes and yet the person expects a different and better result. Vote the Democrats out - any and all Democrats, and then together with a new mayor and city council attempt to truly solve the problem in a reasonable, one that is different than that of the last 89 years.
Democrat voters who have any sense of objectivity need to see that the city of Chicago is just a plantation used by the party to keep itself in power and wealth, just like the antebellum plantations of the South. And any person who can live with that reality is for sure racist. The Democrat party has not changed since since 1827 and Andrew Jackson.
nbc news is absolutely the enemy, folks. Treat the organization as such.

Oprah went to Jeremiah Wright’s hate rallies and played the race card when she was in a ritzy store in Europe and had an incident when inquiring about a $50,000 handbag.
She earned her money no doubt but apparently the rest of the black community in her hometown is “without” and she still feels she understands their struggle and is one of them as well.
The claim is made that the black community in Chicago can’t afford these $8,000 sweaters etc and are thus entitled to just take them as reparations.
At a billion dollars, she could establish schools, scholarships, and work programs.
“What have you done for the community you claim to represent?”
Hourly , Daily , Weekly ,Monthly or Yearly Reparations ? because it would NEVER END

Reparations should be a one way ticket back to Africa.
As the violence escalates, you can shorten that to a one way trip to his ancestors. Another word for repatriation is payback. I think BLM is destroying race relations in America.
Black America needs to pay reparations for all the looting and buildings they burned down.
I am unwilling to spend the rest of my life in this country listening to these people whine about being black.
Dying in a hale of gunfire is far more preferable.
