A 20-year-old woman who paramedics and a coroner declared dead was taken to a Detroit funeral home -- where she was discovered alive by morticians.
The drama began with paramedics from the Southfield Fire Department arriving at a home in Southfield Sunday morning in response to a call for an unresponsive woman.
“When paramedics arrived, they found a 20-year-old who was not breathing,” Southfield Fire Chief Johnny Menifee said, according to WDIV-TV.

There’s a Twilight Zone about this. It takes place in kind of an old western/southern setting, not the modern day. I remember the Doctor tells the family members that one check for Life that he did was ram a long needle into the supposed dead guy’s heel. And that he never even twitched, but here he is, NOT DEAD.
It’s a good episode, not as creepy as it may sound!

People did used to worry about suffocating in the grave due to incompetent doctors.
So very cruel......and yet hilarious!

In Illinois when I lived there you actually had to be taken to a hospital and pronounced dead by a doctor. If someone got hit by a train and were in three garbage bags, the garbage bags would have to be taken to a hosipital and the victim would then be pronounced dead by a doctor. His/her estate would be sent the bill for the ride, examination, and pronouncement. In the state I live in now, that doesn’t have to happen.
But I hope that whoever does it gets it right!

This person, no doubt, has already been tallied as a Covid-19 victim.
If any coroner should know death, you’d think it would be a Detroit coroner.
Employees in a Detroit business office found the following important notice on the bulletin board: “The management regrets that it has come to their attention that workers dying on the job are failing to fall down. This practice must stop, as it becomes impossible to distinguish between death and the natural movement of the staff. Any employee found dead in an upright position will be dropped from the payroll.”
Shouldn’t there have been an autopsy?
