former Navy SEAL Jack Carr
'If it doesn't look right, it's probably not' What should you do if you're driving your car and you find yourself surrounded by an angry mob?
That's the question that former Navy SEAL Jack Carr answered Friday on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight." What's the background?
Violent protests and unrest have been commonplace in major cities nationwide since the tragic killing of George Floyd. Though demonstrations have fizzled out in most cities, protests continue in cities like Portland, Seattle, and Chicago.
On Sunday, a shocking video went viral because it showed an angry mob in Portland force a white man out of his wrecked truck; that driver was then brutally assaulted. Fortunately, police have since arrested the suspect.
The situation has left many wondering: With protesters routinely blocking highways and harassing motorists, what exactly should one do if they find themselves in a similar situation? What did Carr say?
Carr explained:
Some of those basics are: Stay in the car, doors closed, locks, locked doors, windows up, and that only allows you some level of protection. It does give you a level of protection but it only goes so far, but the main thing is to avoid those right away.
So, situational awareness. Looking around, being aware that there are threats, picking your head up out of that phone and turning around. If you turn a corner and you see something that doesn't look right as an army special forces sniper from Vietnam told me years ago he said, "if it doesn't look right, it's probably not." So trust those instincts and pay attention to that sixth sense that has kept us alive as a species since we've been on this planet. If it doesn't look right, turn around, reverse, get out of there.
But what if you find yourself surrounded by a "violent mob?" According to Carr, one should know how to use their tools of defense.
"So remember, your vehicle is a weapon, but you don't want to be in that position to begin with," he said. "Now, if you do get to that phase where you have to fight, it's good to be prepared and to know how to fight."
And for those with firearms, Carr instructed people to "invest" in firearm training, so they know how to properly use it in a situation where they need to defend themselves or their family.
"Get that training," Carr advised. "For those who are wrestling with the fact that they might have to defend themselves, I always think, 'What if you just appeared here out of nowhere and all of a sudden you were violently attacked by a person or a group of people?' You wouldn't need a piece of paper that told you it was okay to defend this gift of human life."
One has to make that decision very quickly because they have adapted to cars blasting through them. They’ve been spiking one or all of the tires once a vehicle is stopped. That happens, you’ll get a few feet, but then you’re riding on rims baby!
Picked a poor day to stand in front or behind a car that is
still operational.
Step on the gas and hope the body doesn’t jam your wheel well. If so, quickly back up and hope the next body doesn’t jam your wheel well. At that point, at least you got two of them.
I think he was implying that by the reference to it being a
weapon. He didn’t want to come out and saw what you and I
are thinking.
Just understand though, there's a very real chance you're going to prison. At the very least, you'll lose your job, you'll be financially wiped out, and left homeless.
Matt’s was posted ob Free Republic.I ran off some copies of Matt’s. I looked and did not see the other guy’s. Using a gun in some places is a good way to get yourself a long prison sentence. Even though you are in the right.
Agreed fake headline. He told us to avoid situations that looked suspicious in the first place which of course most of us would do anyway. And stay in locked car with windows up again, nothing new there. He sure provided no new info!
Thanks very much, I have been wondering how one handles a situation like this, although of course I plan not to be there. But gun it and run em all down never seemed like it would work, unless youre in a really big truck, which most people wont be.
Bottom line, it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Defend yourself by whatever means are necessary. In a battle between a vehicle and a pedestrian, the vehicle will win.
Ping!
Do you have a link to Matt’s advice that was posted to Free Republic?
Serious question.....if it’s an emergency, how far & how fast can a car travel on rims.
This is an absolute nightmare scenario that is too often happening now.
Step #1, put truck in four wheel drive. Step #2, leave the area.
Pretty far, I guess. Not sure how much control or speed you’d have though.

Good Luck
“So trust those instincts and pay attention to that sixth sense that has kept us alive as a species since we’ve been on this planet. If it doesn’t look right, turn around, reverse, get out of there.”
That applies to cities and states as well as streets. If you live in a state that you know for sure will not defend you - and will not allow you to defend yourself - get out of there.
Sell your stuff and get out of there. Move to a state that, at a minimum, will allow you to defend your life and home.
Also, invest in a good dash cam, especially if you live or drive in a democrat controlled city where rioters are being given free reign. If you have to defend yourself, you will have proof of why you had to do so and not be at the mercy of carefully edited cell phone videos posted on social media by Antifa goons. I have this one, but there are many others.

I’d start with a break stand. Smoke screen is what you want. Fortunately, I drive a car that can still do that.
alone, abd xan autodisl921 = ...and can autodial 911....
