A white couple on Long Island was arrested for allegedly harassing their black neighbor by repeatedly shooting pellets across her yard and leaving feces on her lawn, officials announced Monday.
John McEneaney, 57, and his 53-year-old girlfriend, Mindy Canarick, are accused of carrying out the attacks on neighbor Jennifer McLeggan from October 2017 — when she moved into her Valley Stream home — until last month, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.
McLeggan, a 39-year-old single mother of a 2-year-old daughter, brought attention to the alleged harassment last month by listing the allegations on a handwritten sign attached to her door and posted on Instagram.
The mother claimed she was targeted because of her race, but Singas said her office’s investigation “did not find evidence to support a hate crime charge.
”The probe did, however, find “a pattern of harassing conduct against Ms. McLeggan,” the DA said.

Funny how all these white racist stories pop up every election cycle, but we never see any black racist stories do we. You know, like a black man shooting a white kid in the head for no reason or throwing a white kid off a balcony at a shopping mall. Yep, not racist.
And BTW I live on Long Island, my best friend is black. My grandfather use to live in Valley Stream and I don’t ever recall ANYONE ever acting racist in that neighborhood.

If it really did happen, racially motivated ie not cases can be made for vandalism and shooting pellets onto her property should constitute reckless endangerment, the woman does have a small child.
The article says the couple was charged - the man with criminal mischief and harassment, and the woman with criminal tampering. This woman was smart to catch what they did on video.
Whether or not the couple’s motivation was racial is another story. Maybe it was, or maybe it wasn’t. Plenty of other incidents like this one happen, and they never make the news.
Could be worse.
Could have been five and shot with a real gun.
Meanwhile how many whites were murdered or raped or robbed by those of the negroid race here in America

My instincts are usually pretty sound, but I can't get a good feel for what to think about this case. It could be that the couple just flat-out doesn't like blacks. It could be that the alleged victim is a drama queen looking for sympathy and 15 minutes of fame. It could also be, as another poster said, one of those situations where neighbors just dislike each other for NO reason. At this particular moment, it sounds to me like something small and innocuous that escalated in a big way. Maybe something like the bass from the woman's vehicle stereo being heard 20-30 seconds before the vehicle itself arrives every day, and the couple thinking to themselves, 'Well, WE'LL show HER!".
For a BS story, her neighbors were indeed arrested and charged for harassing her. So the cops saw there was merit to her complaints. Sure, she thought that their actions were based on racism. From her point of view, its easy to see why. I dont think she was being malicious in her conclusion as to their motives.
And the DAs office found no evidence that her neighbors motive was racism. Just flat out harassment.

Some of the neighbors on the show are whacked.
As i understand it, this wasnt the first time the white neighbors did this. They harassed the previous tenants of that same property too. (I do not know the race of the previous tenants)
