Facebook on Wednesday banned roughly 900 groups and pages and 1,500 ads related to the QAnon conspiracy.
The removals were part of an expansion of the platform's policies on violent rhetoric, which also resulted in 10,000 Instagram pages and nearly 2,000 Facebook groups associated with QAnon having their reach limited.
The QAnon theory baselessly claims that President Trump and the military are working together to expose a shadowy cabal of figures in media, entertainment and politics that are trafficking children.
In a blog post explaining the policy change Wednesday, Facebook noted that groups and pages dedicated to the theory have increasingly become a place to celebrate violent actions, even if some of them are not directly used to organize those actions.
The FBI labeled the loose QAnon community a potential domestic terror threat last year.
Moving forward, the pages affiliated with QAnon — as well as ones ties to "offline anarchist groups that support violent acts amidst protests" and "US-based militia organizations" — will be prohibited from purchasing ads or selling products in the platform's marketplaces.
Nonprofits that Facebook identifies as supporting those movements will also be barred from using the platform's fundraising tools.
QAnon, militia and anarchist protest groups will also be pushed down on users' newsfeeds and search engines.
These steps by Facebook, similar to ones taken by Twitter last months, come as increasing attention is being paid to the role social media platforms have played in the rapid growth of unhinged conspiracy theories like QAnon.
NBC News reported last week that an internal Facebook investigation uncovered thousands of groups and pages with millions of members and followers supporting the QAnon conspiracy theory. The Guardian has reported on similarly large groups.
I have been experimenting.
FB will flag political post from a conservative perspective but let things like astrology (I blatantly obvious false belief system)and other such things go. I am making the post and then getting a screen capture of it. On top of each post I place a disclaimer, “This may not be true but is placed here for discussion and as an aid to free speech.” Thus, the post specifically says the post is problematic.
I’m thinking to do this for 6 months and then see of an ambulance chasing shyster my like to broaden his scope and see if I can file a suit against FB. I doubt I can do that but it’s fun to dream.
It’s going down. I think Trump at long last is about to drain the swamp.

Twitter suspended me for a month yesterday. My offence? I said CondiB “dressed like a whore”. Those were my exact words. (She is a whore and if you listen to her song WAP you will find out that yes, she is indeed a whore)
Before that I was suspended for a week because I tweeted “Transgenderism is a mental disorder”

Start substituting liberal approved words, phrases, and speech to by-pass algorithms.
Create a new language to communicate by mimicking liberal words and phrases which won't be flagged and censors will overlook.
It was the DoD that has arrested some at the National Institutes of Health and other lost their Jobs as a result of ties with China. Charles M. Lieber was part of this investigation and was arrested for lying to investigators. He was working with "Wuhan University" China as a strategic studies into nanotechnology specifically nano devices which interface our brain with computers.
In other words it would seem the DoD involved in something important.
Going by that theory, BLM and the entire Democrat Party would have been banned long ago.

The difference between q anon and Antifa is that Antifa can actually harm them. Q anon is a mostly imaginary threat so they can say anything they want without fear of repercussions. Think about it. When was the last time a bunch of q anon people went crazy and tore up the downtown of a major city? When was the last time a q anon assaulted a reporter? When was the last time you saw a q anon protester? Q anon is not scary. Antifa is quite scary, so is radical Islam.
In political campaigns while the use of Social Electronic Formats are useful in presenting political positions. Relying solely on using those venues is a mistake because of their SEF content limitations and media bias .
Consideration of the use of reprinted material including handouts and flyers such as of articles in FR and the planning of area saturation distribution known as “blitzing” in the targeted area is essential of one wants to win.

True, but I don’t see even the highest offices in the land doing much fighting back. FB and a host of other social media platforms are a lost cause

Liberals are criminals. Cockroaches that scurry into hiding at the thought of having the light of truth shone upon them. Their terror of being exposed drives them to fear even a non-existent source of exposure. They are that crazy. Anything that has even a mere apparency of being able to expose their bloodsoaked crimes pushes them into a frenzy.
I think this sudden interest by the left in Q is strange. If Q is a nut case conspiracy what does it matter? I have only casually followed a little bit of it, but now I wonder, do I smell smoke?
They closed both mine and my husbands pages, our Pro 2a page and a number of our friends associated with our pages. Its fairly wide and sweeping.
