No info on where this took place. Why not? If it was a nursing home, public or private?
How was the perp hired? Did he have to pass any kind of a backround check?
If this occurred at some kind of facility and I had a lived one there, I’d be breathing fire.

I watched the video and kinda feel a bit sorry for the kid. This kind of job is just not a good fit for him. He is impatient, and frustrated, and doesn’t seem to be motivated by caring.
Of *course* I feel much more sorry for the elderly abused man.
But I do for some reason have some compassion for this kid who’s doing the abusing.
Why not a charge of assault? Sounds like that to me.

My 94 yr old father is in a Memory Care facility in Southern Illinois.
It is a small facility (26 nice single rooms) and is absolutely excellent. It’s managed and staffed by 100% women and 1 female nurese on duty.
Food is all home made and excellent.

THIS is the reason I spent so much time on random drop-in visits to my Dad when he was still alive, living in a Nursing Home.
The home he was in was top-notch; I picked it out myself after MANY interviews at MANY facilities, but one psycho in any facility can/will do something like this.
If you have a family member in a nursing or rehab situation, PLEASE make a pest of yourself. Get to know ALL of the staff, and especially those immediately tending to your loved one.
Bringing cookies or flowers for the staff, and THANKING THEM for a job well done goes so far! Also get to know the OWNER of the facility and the lead Social Worker.
Dad has passed on now, but I know in my heart I did the best I could for him. Having him live with us was an impossibility due to being so far out in the country and a lack of his specialized medical needs out here. I had to keep him in The Big City to get those needs met. Our county has little to assist the elderly. :(
P.S. I’d like to personally slap this kid around for a few hours, myself!

My mom was in the hospital for a few days, the Muslim nurse kept trying to get her to take off her cross necklace.
The nurse handled her very brusquely on purpose, almost to the point of roughing.
Luckily I was nearby, so my vigilance kept it from continuing or getting worse.
I can only feel for the families who are forced to put their elderly members into these snake pits.
The family of the patient should make enough on the lawsuit to put this guy in a good facility.
How stupid can one individual be?
I have taken very specific training from several different agencies on what to do in these situations.
And the most interesting demonstration I took part in was just like this. The driver dropped down behind the engine block and floored the vehicle. Bullets from a pistol nor a rifle were able to penetrate the engine block and the persons holding the weapons would have been paste, especially in front of the grille of that truck.
