And there it again from another source of how long this virus gets to continue killing our economy and amputating so many dreams and aspirations.

WTF?

What happens to that couple living together who lost their jobs and have no hope of finding one?

The uncertainty in their lives will definitely lead to many planned weddings being cancelled.

What about those families whose small business like hair salons, Dry Cleaners and neighborhood restaurants currently shuttered become permanently so?

The grandmother who they cared for through these small businesses, what happens to her? Will she want to live knowing the incredible pressure her children are under to care for her?

What of the worker who was previously making $150-$250k a year and the pile of debt they incurred based on that income?

An extra $600 in unemployment per week for a few months?

Pfffttt!!!

April next year, 2020 or 90 days there after....

an entire year of lost wages for millions of workers or income for so many businesses who are no longer able to sell their goods and no longer require employees

Bankruptcy courts are never catch up to this....

And will the State of California also forego foreclosures of rental properties because of unpaid taxes?

Everyone on Main Street who is delinquent is ultimately delinquent to a bank and their profit motive. It wasn’t that long ago that Main Street bailed out Wall Street and the Banks so it seems only right to me for the Banks to suspend their customers payments until the crisis is over.

Of course the government will waive tax payments and financial institutions will waive loan payments on the rental properties. Most rental homes are owned by small time private investors. What no help for them California?

We are one of those depending upon the $600/wk...which is a pittance regarding our normal earnings...but since our last and final fair of 2020 has cancelled, it is all we have to look forward to...now fairs in 2021 are starting to cancel (Indio)...

The Outdoor Entertainment Industry has been wiped...the destruction is near complete...Get a job? Who will hire a broken up 63 year old man? For what wages? What skills. I have worked for myself most of my life-—I can’t work for anyone else.

All I can say is, at least we don’t have renters and at least our house and property is paid.

But people renting....just what are they supposed to do? The Landlord? What are they supposed to do? None of this is their fault...if it weren’t for the Plague...

I know a guy, a friend who is a clown. Had one fair...he posted about it on FB and all the other entertainers are cheering him on...why? Cause he had a job. They don’t begrudge him that job-—they are happy that someone they know is getting work, even if it is a small fair.

We are partaking in a virtual fair. What is that? No one really knows. It hasn’t been done before. Comes up next month. It is at a fair that we have been doing for some ten years...Gotta do something to earn some jack...

Certain privileged investors will be buying up property for mere pennies on the dollar. Trust the plan, it’s working like a charm.

And the landlords that have a mortgage to pay and their tenants are not paying their rent, what should they do?

You can’t pay rent? Then get out. Landlords have to pay property tax, mortgage, upkeep, utilities... and they need to make money to feed their families. Non paying tenants are not good people.

OK, so the landlords will be prevented from evicting them, in which case, many landlords will be foreclosed and it will be the bank evicting them.

I was a landlord for almost 40 years. I don’t understand the thinking of evicting otherwise good tenants who can’t pay due to COVID.

First off, if you evict, it will take weeks to get a court date, and the judge will give the tenant another 30 days or more to vacate. Then the landlord has to disinfect and clean the unit, fix all the things that have broken that the tenant never mentioned, probably paint, and rent the unit, probably to someone who just got evicted nearby.

Crazy.

Come up with a temporary low rental amount that defrays basic expenses like utilities, insurance and taxes. Not all landlords can pull that off for long, the mortgage may not be affordable. But you have to weigh the knock-on effects of an eviction and re-rental. Banks should make deals with landlords for deferred payments, as banks are the absolute worst at managing foreclosed rental properties.

In a previous life, I rented out my multi-family house in Connecticut. My main tenant being my step mother, and all of my tenants were “D’s” with a capital “L”. They voted for every single tax increase, and treated me like asking for rent was a crime of some sort. I dumped that house. I hope a corporation is now managing it. Compassion is the fastest way to the poorhouse, at least as I lived it.

These days, things are different. Many of the sob stories are true. People who’d rather work have been home for months. It’s time for the banks to defer, or for all of us to get back to living. Can’t live without one or the other.

Everything you describe is an Un-Constitutional Taking by the State and everyone that has been victimized by the State’s TAKING OF THEIR PROPERTY, deserves to be Compensated, and the Compensation should be paid by a Special Assessment on the Incomes, Tips, Wages and ASSETS of ALL PUBLIC EMPLOYEE’s
