The Washington Post is the latest news organization to settle a defamation lawsuit launched by Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann over its botched coverage of a viral confrontation with a Native American elder that had portrayed the Kentucky teen as the aggressor.
Sandmann announced the victory on Twitter.
"On 2/19/19, I filed $250M defamation lawsuit against Washington Post. Today, I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit. Thanks to @ToddMcMurtry & @LLinWood for their advocacy. Thanks to my family & millions of you who have stood your ground by supporting me. I still have more to do," Sandmann wrote on Friday.
This follows the multi-million dollar settlement CNN made with the teenager back in January.

Sandmann offered a not-so-subtle warning to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
"We have settled with WAPO and CNN. The fight isn’t over. 2 down. 6 to go. Don’t hold your breath @jack," Sandmann tweeted.

And everything about their methods released during discovery will provide the seeds for a hundred more lawsuits against them.
He’s won two settlements already. The one with CNN is being called “multi-million”. The WaPo settlement was presumable similar in size.
He’s got a war chest now.
In other words, he’s playing with house money.

Good. Maybe if news organizations are punished when they twist and distort the news resulting in harm to people they will stop doing it. Big maybe I know.
What really irked me is within a couple hours after the “smirk crime” video, tons of other videos came out showing the Black Israelites and the Indian getting in these kids faces but the MSM ran with the original story for WEEKS!
I disagree. I am hoping that Sandman takes one of them to the mat. Sandman’s attorneys are able to use the two cases already settled to hone their approach, and further refine as they go along.
Pretty soon, as the number of remaining targets dwindle, the settlement amounts should go up, as the remaining targets ask themselves “Do I want to the last man standing?”
No quarter asked, No quarter given.

Exactly. There are enough of these lies from MSNBC and CNN, regarding other people that if they sued it would bankrupt the networks. At a minimum they would be far more careful what propaganda and lies they put out.

Whereas the media used to be able to lie with impunity and no one would be able to challenge them now there’s absolute video proof that completely denies their lying
Now of course the Democrats and the media will continue to go on lying distorting the meeting and all of their other antics but at least when we get to a court of law where there is evidence presented and hopefully affair jury they get their ass handed to them
