The Washington Post is the latest news organization to settle a defamation lawsuit launched by Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann over its botched coverage of a viral confrontation with a Native American elder that had portrayed the Kentucky teen as the aggressor.
Sandmann announced the victory on Twitter.
"On 2/19/19, I filed $250M defamation lawsuit against Washington Post. Today, I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit. Thanks to @ToddMcMurtry & @LLinWood for their advocacy. Thanks to my family & millions of you who have stood your ground by supporting me. I still have more to do," Sandmann wrote on Friday.
This follows the multi-million dollar settlement CNN made with the teenager back in January.

Sandmann offered a not-so-subtle warning to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
"We have settled with WAPO and CNN. The fight isn’t over. 2 down. 6 to go. Don’t hold your breath @jack," Sandmann tweeted.

As a teenager the kid behaved incredibly well when attacked by the indian. As an 18 year old he is already a multi- multi-millionaire. He is a formidable opponent and has earned the right..
The MSM buries anything that does not fit their narrative. They lie directly and they lie by omission. The coverage of this story where a FRAUD got in the face of this kid and the media spun a false narrative about it was despicable. It was all lies and fabrication and I am thrilled they got called on it. He was an innocent kid on a field trip. Nothing more.
Consider the Russiagate mess - a large number of Americans (tens of millions based on polling) still believe Putin owns Trump! Unbelievable based on facts and what we now know, but the media does not cover the things that disrupt their false narrative.
Nicholas should be set for life after this and his attorney will be too. Good on them.

This young man, who did the right thing, is set for life. I expect he will also do good things with this money.
That's why they are known as corrupt media.
Arrogance doesn't necessarily play well before a jury, that's all I'm thinking. I know he's gotten settlements so far, which is great. But if one of the defendants thinks they can get the upper hand by going before a jury, they'll do it.
I'm just saying, on the basis of wanting him to get the largest possible monetary award, it might be wise to keep his own council until he's done squeezing the defendants.
Then he can really let loose, from the left seat of his private jet.

With all the money he has made this year, I am sure the check he wrote was no more than sandwich money for Bezos (don't forget Bezos has a powerful law team). The check - I am guessing single digit millions - plus college tuition paid at any univ of his choice.

He's an 18 year old multi-millionaire. I think arrogance comes naturally.
Being a news outlet that ostensibly promotes transparency, the WP will be hypocritical and completely lacking integrity if they do not disclose the terms of the settlement.
But IMO Sandman should do the following:once all the press organs who libeled and defamed him have paid up he should hold a press conference in which he announces a million dollar donation to some worthy cause.That way he could give the world some kind of idea just how much $$$ he scored.
That would be fun!
Not only should he be arrogant in his great victory he should laugh at them, mock and demean them at every turn. He should CROW that he, a mere High School student took on and WHIPPED TWO media icons with 4 yet to fall and fall they will.
He should get the names addresses and phone numbers of the reporters who caused this and release the info to the public.
In short this young man should make it his primary business to make sure as many people as possible are made aware of what the Liberal media did and what it cost them.
My hope is this will produce many more lawsuits of this kind against the Left wing media.

This is good, but won’t produce a change or induce any learning by the Post because the perps weren’t required to individually pay up out of their own pockets. Personal liability is the answer; take their homes, pension plans, cars, everything.
The Left needs their own tactics used against them. Rub their noses in it.
They need to be Alinsky’d because they would have no mercy if the roles were reversed. The Left does not understand nor respect, being classy and polite - they see it as weakness.
None of these cases will ever go before a jury. The media outlets might even win most of them, but they are settling out of court because the discovery process will destroy them in the public eye.
