Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s tense visit with protesters-- where he was booed, told to resign and given a list of demands-- ended with his security detail engaging in a struggle with protesters late Wednesday night as they worked to get the mayor to safety, a report said.
While no protesters appeared to physically harm Wheeler, once he was inside the building a few people tried unsuccessfully to push past his security team in an apparent attempt to get inside. Others threw water bottles and other projectiles at the glass door, according to a video tweeted by New York Times correspondent Mike Baker.

Stupid kids trying to find meaning in an empty life. Don’t think very many of them built and ran a business, worked full time so they could go to school in their off hours, or raised and supported a family with all of the challenges and rewards that entails. These kids know nothing.

Wheeler got not quite everything he deserved from his beloved “protesters”; he deserved more verbal and other battering than he got.
What threat was made? It was a wish, a little off, but just a wish. Wishing the security detail death was a little too far.

Wheeler was symbolically run out of his own town last night by the rioters. He and his security boys tried to get him out front and make it look like a parade, but he and they failed miserably. He should spend more money on a better grade of goggles. He wasn’t safe in those Harbor Freight specials he was wearing. They also failed to hide the stark fear in his eyes when he confronted the reality that the cannibals were about to throw him in the pot of boiling water.
You mean he overestimated the intelligence and reasoning ability of the crowd.

He was like a french mayor trying to stop the tanks rolling into his town.
