The Hallmark Channel, which portrays itself as the countrys leading destination for quality family entertainment, has announced it will feature in the coming months LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors.
Diversity and inclusion is a top priority for us and we look forward to making more programming announcements in the coming months, with projects featuring LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors, Hallmark said in a recent statement.
We are committed to creating a Hallmark experience where everyone feels welcome.
In December, the channel apologized for removing an ad from Zola.com, the wedding planning site, featuring two brides kissing. Hallmark reinstated it after backlash from gay rights advocates.
Crown Media, Hallmarks parent company, had pulled several ads for Zola after they led to protests. Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and William Shatner criticized the move and the hashtag #BoycottHallmarkChannel trended on Twitter at one point.
Earlier this week, a decision was made at Crown Media Family Networks to remove commercials featuring a same-sex couple. The Crown Media team has been agonizing over this decision as weve seen the hurt it has unintentionally caused. Said simply, they believe this was the wrong decision, Mike Perry, president and chief executive of Hallmark Cards, said in a statement at the time.
Our mission is rooted in helping all people connect, celebrate traditions, and be inspired to capture meaningful moments in their lives. Anything that detracts from this purpose is not who we are. We are truly sorry for the hurt and disappointment this has caused."
Conservative group One Million Moms said in a petition, The Hallmark Channel has always been known for its family-friendly movies. Even its commercials are usually safe for family viewing. But unfortunately, that is not the case anymore.
Shame on Hallmark for airing commercials with same-sex couples.
My guess is you will see “hostile compliance” and Hallmark will do the minimum needed to keep the woke mob off their backs so they can still operate in Hollywood, but try not to offend their viewers/subscribers.
It might be easier for them to make a few movies cheaply that fill GLAAD’s quota and have terrible ratings, and then disappear, than to make a big deal and attract the hostile attention of the Hollywood establishment.
Red Bull can tell people who are not it’s customer/vendors to go pound sand. A TV channel can’t because it needs writers, actors and production staff to operate.
I forgot to mention that VUDU is also available on Roku. It has free and paid content and is plainly marked which is which.
Any more Logo just has reruns of “Mama’s Family” and “Married With Children”
Ill just shut it off! Im a fan of their family friendly movies, but this pap is no bueno!
HELLMARK Channel.
My wife will hopefully get angry and turn Hallmark off for this perversion. She is watching the Christmas in July stuff now. She got mad at me Sunday when her and my daughter-in-law started watching one and I offered to tell them the ending without ever seeing it. The love of their life is in front of them but they are committed to a big city workaholic who wants to take them away from the Norman Rockwell small town and you always have to have a financial issue and an evil big business in the plot somewhere. Variations on a theme is all these Hallmark writers have, it’s really sad they have no more imagination than 104 choruses of the same song.
The other problem is the incredibly immense output of the same movie. They have done hundreds and hundreds of Christmas movies alone. My wife pretty much confines herself to the Murders and Mysteries channel these days. I think the mystery movies are simply warmed over Murder, She Wrote plots. She watches the newer mysteries and reuns of Tom Selleck's Magnum, P.I.
We will probably be looking at reducing our TV package with DirecTV somewhere down the road.
The funny thing with my wife getting tired of Hallmark is that she actually thrives on sameness. She loves small-town stories and reads Jan Karon's Mitford novels over and over in order. Yet, even she can't take another variation on the same theme with Hallmark.
I guess hallmark is preparing to go out of business soon. They’re following the typical leftist failure model.
Maybe not even MOST everyone. Sick of this gay crap showing up everywhere.
