The Hallmark Channel, which portrays itself as the countrys leading destination for quality family entertainment, has announced it will feature in the coming months LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors.
Diversity and inclusion is a top priority for us and we look forward to making more programming announcements in the coming months, with projects featuring LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors, Hallmark said in a recent statement.
We are committed to creating a Hallmark experience where everyone feels welcome.
In December, the channel apologized for removing an ad from Zola.com, the wedding planning site, featuring two brides kissing. Hallmark reinstated it after backlash from gay rights advocates.
Crown Media, Hallmarks parent company, had pulled several ads for Zola after they led to protests. Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and William Shatner criticized the move and the hashtag #BoycottHallmarkChannel trended on Twitter at one point.
Earlier this week, a decision was made at Crown Media Family Networks to remove commercials featuring a same-sex couple. The Crown Media team has been agonizing over this decision as weve seen the hurt it has unintentionally caused. Said simply, they believe this was the wrong decision, Mike Perry, president and chief executive of Hallmark Cards, said in a statement at the time.
Our mission is rooted in helping all people connect, celebrate traditions, and be inspired to capture meaningful moments in their lives. Anything that detracts from this purpose is not who we are. We are truly sorry for the hurt and disappointment this has caused."
Conservative group One Million Moms said in a petition, The Hallmark Channel has always been known for its family-friendly movies. Even its commercials are usually safe for family viewing. But unfortunately, that is not the case anymore.
Shame on Hallmark for airing commercials with same-sex couples.
‘In that case, the old high school boyfriend is single himself, so there are possibilities with him.’
or the guy’s wife died, you know the way twenty something women normally do, and he has some precocious child, generally a girl, that works ceaselessly to bring them together...and the guy is generally what women would call a perfect ten, and yet somehow is not attracted to any of the local girls...
‘Or perhaps the man owns a ranch...’
or he runs a christmas tree farm for a living, supporting himself and daughter and a dog on the income from a month long venture; and she realizes that her high level job in the affluent city is just smoke and mirrors compared to the life in her backwater home town with Mr. Perfect and his little brat and all the quirky, inquisitive townfolk...
I will not be watching. They need to launch a gay channel for these movies but I am betting it would have low ratings. I’ll stick with the oldies such as Hans Brinker, I Remember Mama, Little Women (made in the 30’s/40’s).
Hallmark Christmas...Now we don our gay apparel.
That would be the ultimate troll. Itd be great to see the hysterical reaction.
Would never happen, but its still funny to consider.
Get woke, go broke.
The Hallmark Channel’s future, which at the time will be explained away by saying it was “competition” that lead to the fall in ratings.
Another one down the shi##er, bye bye
LOL, I think I saw that movie, where the guy was a widower, and had a cute elementary school age daughter.
Youd think from that meaningless blather from Hallmark that people are somehow forced to tune into the Hallmark Channel, and that they dont have the option to simply not watch.
Of course for the Left simply leaving something alone is not an option.
#10 Spoiler alert... Paladin shoots the Virginian and he in turn shoots Paladin. Then they have a drink in Kitty’s Longbranch saloon with Matt and Festus and of course Doc.
Ewwwww.
“Isnt there a gay channel called Logo?”
Yes. Gross.
Hallmark has caved. Well, maybe not. Im sure the leaders of this allegedly family friendly company are leftists who hate their natural and long time customers/supporters (same as Walmart, Chick Fil A, comic book publishers, and NASCAR) and are probably happy to go this route.
But if there was some resistance or reluctance or even opposition then its easy to see why they caved. If they explicitly refused to do as they have now promised to do then theyd face a sponsor boycott. Theyd probably also face a talent boycott from directors, writers, and actors, who while they are not A-list in Hollywood, they are still in the community and would likely behave just as they are at the top lest any other doors be closed to them.
More than anything though its the potential loss of sponsors. The Lefts capture of corporate America is among their most important victories and it leads to so many other wins for them.
Now, just months later, the entire network has caved to demands that no one was even making before the ad was run.
THIS is how rapidly the far-left is winning.
We just binge watched six seasons of “Bosch” on Prime. Good story lines, but too much “diversity”, and not typical for L.A. Few Caucasions, a bizillion blacks, and hardly any Hispanics — if any. Still, the stories are pretty good.
Yeah Where’s the “diversity” there?
My wife love the HMC . . . she will watch less of it from this point forward
Woke go broke

Alexander Solzhenitsyn, after spending years in a Soviet prison, wrote of the inherent weakness of man. He observed that those accustomed to living in comfort will shy away from the troubles of others, and will compromise in all areas to preserve their pleasures.
He also observed that prisoners who had been stripped of all their comforts would rather lose their lives than compromise their morals and ideals.
Another smelly death
