A fire has broken out at the cathedral in the French city of Nantes.
More than 60 firefighters are currently at the Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul cathedral, according to local media. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Images from the scene show a substantial fire and smoke billowing from inside the gothic building.

Nazi symbol above front door...
I don’t see anything. Can you post an image?
Something that happens when Churches are in the throngs of transformation from their current use to some other “use”.
Now to decide the name of the new mosque.
Those gothic stone masons and builders should be sued into oblivion for their faulty designs. These things just seem to be bursting into flames all over France.
Given what is happening nationally in this country, with no leadership on any level, there is no cause to mock France.
Fire appears to be out. Damage, while very serious, is apparently confined and not structure-critical.
It’s a real shame. Many of those old cathedrals in Europe are amazing inside and out.
You have a good point.. Those of us right 'seem' to be such cowards..

You wont find a Nazi symbol.
Please.
Interesting legacy for Micron, in overseeing the destruction of French history, and not pointing out where the problem is.
Nantes prosecutor Pierre Sennes noted that the fire had started in three different places, meaning a judicial investigation for possible arson was opened, although no conclusions had yet been drawn.
“When we arrive at a place where a fire has taken place, when you see three separate fire outbreaks, it’s a question of common sense, you open an investigation,” Sennes told AFP.

Seemingly, yes. But the marvel to me is the time-delay feature. The fact that these works of art sat there for centuries, looking ever so benign and non-threatening, before suddenly bursting into flames. Fiendishly clever, eh what?!
Moose-limbs.
Clearly a material defect or design flaw. I’m guessing the limestone blocks were not sufficiently tested for fire resistance when they were originally quarried, and were negligently installed in an unsafe condition.

He continued, “And when you find out that a protected class of inbred goat-humpers are the perps, you IMMEDIATELY close that investigation.”
Just watch. My prediction will come true. :(
There was another case of an arson attempt on a French cathedral only a couple of weeks ago - the front entrance was set alight in the early hours - but a local was alerted by the smell of smoke and the fire was extinguished before too much damage was done. (Locals formed a human-chain to fight the blaze with buckets of water even before the fire brigade arrived.) But I’ve forgotten where it happened.
Does anyone else know/recall?
